It's awesome being the trailing car and hearing the awesome sounds in front of you. Pure delight. Thanks Kevin and Jason for the nice little drive today, I needed that! Car doesn't handle as bad as I thought. Might get down to the river tonight in Covington for a little photoshoot with the wife, if she's feeling up for it after work

OK guys.
I <3 the 135i i drove today. Still want to drive an e46 M3, but either way, it's time.
I got a terrible trade in offer, so i'm gonna do a small part out and sell.
Stuff that doesn't need stock replacements
Progress tech front and rear adjustable sway bars -- $250
Evor-R adjustable end links Front and Rear -- $100
Hawk HP+ front and rear pads with 1 DE weekend but tons and tons of life left $150
Mazmart ReMedy Water pump -- $150
Stuffs i need your stock + cash. These may go with the car if it sells before they do:
Ro_Ja R2-7 refinished gun metal. Some small rock chips, but no curbing. (rebranded Gram Lights 57S Pro)
18 x 9 +37 with 245/40/18 Toyo R1R's with 1 DE weekend and about 3000k miles on them (I'll try to get a penny tread depth pic later) -- $500 + Stock wheels and tires with enough tread to sell it and in nice-ish condition
HKS Hi-Power in good shape and awesome sounding as always -- $200 + Stock catback.
Car itself will go on Craig's List for $10k obo, but will go down if i get the stock stuff above put on.
2005 Titanium Grey GT with Red and Black interior. 104,XXX miles. Some odd scratches around the mazda emblem on the trunk, rock chips on the front bumper as well as a small crack under the grill.
Oil Cooler screens and Koyo Radiator will stay with the car.
That's it ladies and gents. PM me if you're interested any any of it.

Fuz, did you get to drive the Z06 as well? I really like the E46 M3, would love to have one. I also like the idea of a B6 S4, just not the gas mileage. In my mind, I don't want a WRX or EVO as I like a little creature comforts that the higher end vehicles are bringing. I just don't know how to go about selling my car yet.

S4's are nice cars and think that are way nicer than the STI/EVO am can be fast and fun. They just aren't a track ready car and that' what I'm looking for. The e46 will really to wow me to keep me out of a 135

sounds like the typical coolant level sensor malfunction. Basically it stops reading correctly. You can try topping off the coolant just a bit more, but it's likely a bad sensor. You pretty much have to buy a new overflow bottle to get a new sensor. Check with Mazmart for one and be careful not to break the radiator taking the old one off. The plastic nipple on the top of the radiator is easy to snap when pulling the over flow tank off. Don't ask how i know.

Defectors from the Mazda camp will have to turn over all their Mazda swag to others who hoist the flag.
S4s are nice. I knew someone that had a B7. A bit heavy in the front end though but it ran like hell. I would agree not track ready.
Ditto on the WRX. Doors clang when shut. Interior from the 90's.
You know Kevin, if you get a BMW, you have to drops cigarettes and take up a pipe and wear tweed.

I understand why Kevin wants out, as I have thought so myself. It's hard to justify replacing a rotary $$$ for basically another underpowered engine. Outside of adding FI to the new engine, which would cost upwards of $10k to do right, it's hard to justify all of the extra cost. That said, the 8 is still a fun car, that I still enjoy driving and I'm really going to have to think and drive a few cars before I decide what will replace it. Just my two cents
When I was in the Army, one of my buds had a silver B6 with a manual trans, car handled well, sounded awesome, but I swear the needle moved just riding around Ft. Campbell in it! Not too mention the high cost to maintain which would be higher than the 8. I wouldn't track it, but it would be a fun and expensive daily. E46 M3 gets the nod here, but again BMW's are probably more than I could afford for maintanence purposes.

I really love the car. The chasis is one of the best in the business. For a beginner, hell even a more advanced track car, it's perfect. I don't mind the cost of a well built engine or doing the work to put it in all that much, it's just hard for me to justify spending 3/4 of the cars value to put it back to basically stock power levels and still having the looming "How long with this one last?" hanging over my head. Mazmart has a good track record and builds a hell of an engine, but nothing lasts forever, and a rotary engine is going to always be on the short side of life. It will take me a few years at the track to really be held back by power at the track, and a well built engine would surely get there. I don't daily the car anymore which will add to it's life, but i just fell like it's time to move on. If it was modified more for track with ohlins, seats, rollbar and harnesses, i would be putting another engine in it, no questions asked. Where it's at now, it's just financially better for me to let it go and get something that won't be held back by power down the road.
I consider all of you guys and girls friends, and my garage will always be open to you if you need help. I'll likely stick around the forum quite a bit because of the community and friends i've made. I'll always love the car for what it is. Who knows, maybe the car won't sell and i'll end up diving back in head first.

On a side note, I did finally get my Miata! It's a '97 M edition. BRG with tan interior. I love it so far. We've got shocks and tires on their way to us now. Super excited to get some work done and get back out to autox!
