damn.. that sucks.
how bad is the damage? did you see the license plate or at least the model to report?
I once got hit and run at my school parking lot, and that ended up out of my pocket and insurance...
sorry to hear the bad news, but hope it didn't cause major damage...
I really don't understand why or how people can do that...

Anyone interested in getting some car photos Saturday before Fuel? Forecast is iffy right now but not a lot of time left before winter comes about. I'm a few weeks away from putting on the stock wheels for the season.
Two spots: Longworth and the gravel lot near there by the railroad bridge.

Hey it turns out that I may have misplaced my wheel lock key at Tact's Sunday. Kevin and Dan would you mind checking your toolboxes to see if it might have found its way into one of them? I tore my car apart and Tact searched his driveway and garage. It would be greatly appreciated.
Back to your post about the photo shoot I'm down. I just don't know how exciting my car would be being pretty much stock on the outside. Let me know.

It was a lot of fun on sunday. thanks for coming, and let's do it again!
somehow I got the ABS and Traction Control lights came on, along with 5 beeps when i started after finished. I checked ABS sensor cable and it seems to be okay. so i'm hoping it just needs to be have a reset. (probably the beep was from the TPMS...) haven't have chance to try the reset, but hopefully in next couple days..
>Mazdax3
if the weather's good, count me in. also depends on what time we are meeting up too..

I checked the driveway again, and didn't see locks... hope it's in someone's tool box...

Tact check your rear passenger side suspension connections. I remember we disconnected something that was attached between your sway bar back there and the suspension arms. This was before Kevin showed up to tell us idiots how to do it. Now that I think about it it looked almost like a sensor. Make sure that is all bolted back up. And if that is the culprit I feel like an ***.

Hmph, at least when I was involved in a photo shoot I was still driving a Mazda! Just kidding man, it would be a nice comparison between sports cars over the years.
Not sure if you're interested in that sort of thing, but there's a 944 Turbo plastic model kit on eBay right now. Saw it last night and thought of you. No one ever made one of the '81 RX-7, for that matter I haven't seen one of the RX-8 either. I have this huge pile of kits awaiting my retirement (won't be able to afford car mods any more unless I sell my body. Well, probably not even then).
Hey Steve, maybe that's your route to a new Porsche. Become a gigilo, then you wouldn't have to worry about your wife's trade-in value.

And I'd love to find some old abandoned buildings to park in/in front of. If I get my baby back by the this weekend, I might join you fellas.

Yep. Same place. I'm always looking for some factories and the like. There's some down in Camp Washington and Fairmount, but not sure you can legally get in there or survive the area alone.
Looks like the weather might be a buzzkill. Cold and damp. Cold and cloudy is OK, but rain isn't going to cut it. Let's see how the weather shapes up later this week and make a judgement call then.

So last night at 1:40 am driving home from work on southbound 71 the rex was totaled. I was driving around 60mph around the S bend on 71 between the kenwood exit and red bank exits. I was coming around the first bend to the right in the middle lane and a truck came up on the fast lane and passed me. As it passed a wave of water sprayed from the trucks tires and caused my car to hydroplane, turn 90 degrees with the diver side pointed down the hill and ended up t boning the guardrail short of the small bridge that crosses over stewart rd.

No wrap yet James. I finally got some vinyle samples from a couple places though. Waiting on one more sample to come in before i pull the trigger on a roll. I'm gonna try to start the rust repair today if it warms up a little and we get some sun. I'm on vacation from the 3rd to 11th, so nothing major will happen after that anyway ![Frown](https://www.rx8club.com/images/smilies/frown.gif)
Glad to see you're alright Corey

Sorry to hear about your wreck man.
Are you going to purchase another 8?
Also: Can anyone lead me in a direction of where to get a compression test done?
How much does a compression test averagely cost?

Wow. Can't believe you're not injured. Good testament to the strength of the 8. Glad you're OK.
I know the place where you hit the rail. I hate that section of 71. Always nasty even in dry weather.

I'm currently hunting for another 8 as close to the same mileage that I had when I wrecked (28,000 miles) and color, so I just have to see what I come up with. Unfortunately everyone in my family is against me getting another one. But I think the fact that I am still here is a true testament to how well they are built and how surprisingly safe they are.

damn... that looks like a pretty bad accident.
glad that you are okay. as everyone says, cars can be replaced.
good luck with car hunting, and I agree with BBRX8, go with the lowest milage and worry about the color later. I think Milage matters more than the model year.
