Cool, good to hear. You should come, it's a lot of fun. I'll certainly have to make it down to the Ciny events if I'll be meeting some of you guys there.

I went to the event at Turfway a couple of weeks ago, I just observed, but had a great time! I would really like to try that out and deffinatley plan on making the July event.
I went to Kil-Kere's website but couldn't find anything regarding the auto cross events. If I could hit an event before Turfway that would be great! If you have any info about local events it would be very appreciated!

The Cincy SCCA site has all of the info about the Turfway and Riverdowns events and the WOR (Western Ohio Region) SCCA site has all the info about the Kilkare events. Hope to see you there!

So where are all the cincy 8's hiding. I see a VR parked in a lot on Pete Rose Way every time I park there, a WWP on 52 or 50 every once in a while, a BB in Marimont 2 times, and another TG right around the corner from my house. I haven't seen the TG for a couple weeks though. I'm in Mt. Washington and work downtown, so if you see a TG heading either way, give a wave, it's probably me.

Hello! Sorry to barge in here, but I wanted to invite the Cincy area RX-8 group to something brand-new. Several of the local sports car clubs in Cincy have discussed bringing all the different sports car clubs in our area together on one forum. Get in on the ground floor at http://cincysportscar.com/
We have already established a Mazda RX section and can set up a club section for your group as well. It's free & the mission is to do more combined events where we get all the clubs together on a regular basis for meets, drives, etc.
Thanks,
Greg

I know it's a little short notice, but I'm heading down to Fuel Coffee on 52 (Kellogg) if any one is interested. They do "Cars and Coffee" every Saturday morning from 8 to 12. I've gone 4 or 5 times, but keep forgetting to mention it here. There are usually a decent turnout of vintage, new, track day cars, kit cars and everything in between. Good people too.

casanewt, cool site I hope it takes off. I've been looking for a group like that, b/c I just get irritated with the street scene sites.
BTW, autocross at Kilkare tomorrow, hope to see some of you there! Woot!!

It appears that they don't have a website, but they do have a facebook page. I didn't take any pictures, but saturday had a good turn out. 5 old 911's, a spyder, a speedster and a 912. My 8, my buddies M3, a TVR, an old DB6, a 427 Cobra replica, and a few other cars and bikes in and out while i was there. The people are all cool and generally just like to talk with everyone there. Most of the time, i have as many people eyeing the 8 as the other cars there, and i'm always asked about it. Coffee is good and cheep, and the pastries are awesome for some breakfast nibbling.
I'll probably go down again this saturday. I'll be sure to post here Friday night if I'm going for sure.

so my little sunlight silver is about to get some love =]
i found a lovely set of cusco front and rear strut braces
the racing beat spring set
the racing beat sway bars.
i really hope that gives me the edge in all around backroading and daily driving =]
i got the center gauge pod almost ready for the install.
will post a DIY on that, looks like a blast haha.
but i need a test pipe here asap. all my silly evo boys are stoked about shooting a little poop called a flame, we all know what the rx8's can shoot out
but for anyone who doesnt know im keith.
04 sunlight silver 6speed
black rims
greddy catback
tinted tails
tinted corners
agency power underdrive pulley
ngk iridium with racing beat wires
i would love to bring more rx8's to the evo.sti crowd to show that the little 1.3's do got some heart.
if you would like to come out to these give me a call/text 859.462.0754

Welcome sunlightsilver rex.
kellibell and others. I'll be heading to Fuel Saturday around 9:30 or 10 if anyone else wants to check it out. All the info is in my previous posts in this thread. It's only a couple mile east of downtown, so it's worth the trip if you're in the downtown area or close by. It seems to have more cars every week, so it will be cool to see a couple more 8's there. I'll be meeting my buddy there, so look for a ti grey 8 and a green e36 m3 if you stop in.

Hey guys and gals, I need some help I am wondering if anyone locally is not using their stock air box.
If not I would be willing to buy it from you for a price you feel is right, I am having trouble with my car and I can't drive it until I have this airbox.
Thanks guys let me know, you can PM me or just post in here. I can meet you to pick it up...

Less Weight = Better RX8
Started installing my system.
Finally broke down and started installing my sound system. I have had it for a couple of years but was always too busy. I just finished mounting the amps. Here are some pictures.
I will probably do a write up later on my car blog.
I am trying to keep the weight down. I made it out of aluminum. with tapped mounting holes and mounting studs.
Total weight is 476g or about 1.05lbs including all mounting hardware and nutserts.
Some black paint to hide all sins.
Almost no clearance between the amps and the rear strut tower brace.
Here is the finished result. With the amp and rear subwoofers installed.
Now, i need to wire the amps, install the new speakers and integrate it into the factory head unit.

Paul - Looks good. Im interested in seeing how it turns out. Are you keeping the stock HU or getting an aftermarket? Do you still have the stock appearance package.? I'm still interested if you want to get rid of it.

I still have the stock appearance package but I have no plans to sell at this time.
I also need to start wiring and installing the new speakers. I have a DLS three way setup for up front using a 8" woofer. I am not sure where I will install the midrange. Either in the upper door in front of the door handle or the kick panel, which ever sounds better.
