Just got home from Dubai, couldn't log on to any of my car forums while there (damn censorship). Anyhow, I'll be at Fuel tomorrow in the Miata as long as the weather is nice.

Hey, does anyone know if they are still doing work on the Brent Spence? We got caught in that last weekend and I'd like to avoid it if it is ongoing.

so... the other day i went camping at my friend's farm... the problem is there is this bootleg gravel road, not really gravel, like rocks, that you have to drive on. anyway long story short is i bottomed out and now my car is loud either due to a hole in or broken exhaust and i think the exhaust is moving when i drive. so i'll be checking that out tonight and i might be showing up at fuel tomorrow without a full exhaust if i decide that its not secure and cant fix it.... we'll see.

That's rough. I don't have my stock cat back anymore either or I'd give it to you. I dropped it off at Bob's autowrecking or some **** not too far from fuel though.

That sucks. I've got the stock cat-back off the wife's car if you need a cheap replacement.

Hey guys, I dont know if youve heard but this sunday is the Concors D'elegance down in Louisville at Churchill Downs. Last year there were 18 or so bugattis and some other really awesome cars. I'm gonna be down there with my 8 and it would be cool if we had some of them because we could drive through the tunnel and park in the infield. Hope to see some of u guys

ok so i promise not to bring this up again for the rest of the year but....we are having another autocross!!!!!!! the only 2 people i have seen at any of our races are ashly and xander so id like to see more of you for this last points event. I'm not sure why none of you go but it is super cheap safe and lots of fun(i for one would not still own my rx-8 if it were not for solo). if you are still not sure about autocross then come out and take a look. its free to spectate and if you ask nicely you can even ride with someone for free(i for one will give out as many rides as anyone on this site wants)!!!! so again come out and have some fun i guarantee you will love every minute. here is the local scca web site http://www.cincyscca.com/ (click on solo) and here is our myautoevents.com page http://www.myautoevents.com/pls/mae/...event_id=11726 . and again if you have any questions or concerns please pm me all you want.

I would love to bring the Miata but I know with the mods on it I would be running in a class where I would be outclassed. Do you have to join SCCA first? How much would it cost? I might be able to do it depending upon my wife's plans.

no you dont have to be a member and while your mods may put you in a hard class they might not it just depends on what you have done also you can run an index class to even things out if you want. cost for non-members is 45 on site and 35 if you pre-reg on line plus a $5 weekend membership i might be able to cut some deals for you guys if you show and hell ill even let someone co-drive with me.

I will be there in the my MR2 Turbo. This has to be about the most fun you can have in a parking lot(with a few exceptions ). The rest of you should come out and show the STX class whats up and if you feel like coming to CS I will try to provide some exciting competition. I'll also let anyone ride with me that just wants to come out and watch.

Reread my post and realized I probably came across as full of myself. I am under no illusions as to my level of skill, just would like to not put forth too bad of a showing! I just bought the car and it has had the suspension completely replaced as well as a supercharger, so I figure that will put me well outside of any stock classes. I don't care that much as long as I can have some fun.

One thing I am wondering, I have read something about a roll bar needing to extend a certain distance above the driver's head. The bar on my car isn't above my head without a helmet so if true then I won't be able to drive this car.

I'll see what plans we have and try to get there.

im not 100% but i dont think that you need a roll bar as i know a few guys who auto cross without them. the last time i checked the only time you would need one is for a road course. on a side note again if anyone on here is still not sure about auto cross then just come out and watch its like a car show and most of you guys love those so feel free to drop on by and have a look(again that part is free). also i think i saw tacti at the fiesta brava in fields ertel....unless someone else has a solara with a front mount.

I might be picking up an 8 again. I miss it and there are some good deals here in Phoenix.

I have two colors that are worth getting..white with red and black leather and copper red shinka with tan leather. I just dont know which one I like better.

The wife and I plan on moving back to Ohio..either CBUS or Cincy next March and I plan on making the car into a track car once we get back.

Welcome back Moete! Well soon to be it seems.

Lycanthrope: I may head out and watch. It depends on what happens Saturday on our car shopping trip to Indy. I haven't had the time to run really this year, and when I have, I've used it to fix some minor issues and general maintenance on the 8z I still have a caliper that's hanging sometimes that I need to get fixed. Hopefully I'll see you Sunday.

Okay, I've registered and paid for Sunday's event. Same name as on here. After a quick scan of the rules I figure I'll be in STR, if not I am sure they will let me know!

Chief, you can always just tell them you're new and they'll lump you in the novice class. It doesn't really matter unless you you go out there and run the table and take points away from someone else.

Welcome again RX8ohiotech!

I scanned the rules and it does appear I will be in SSM, so I went ahead and changed my class. Hopefully I will get some slack being a newb if I'm wrong.

I found a crease in the front fender of the Miata today that wasn't there yesterday. Whoever did it had to have known they did it. I just don't understand why people today are so inconsiderate and hate on those who have nice things. Don't be jealous, take care of your own stuff and enjoy it.

That **** sucks. All it takes is a simple note and contact info. The last time it happened to me, I didn't care about the dent (not my 8), it was the fact they they did it and left nothing.

My wife brought up some good points, as in, are there readily available restrooms, what do most people do for food, etc. We are wondering whether to bring her car so we can bring our canopy and other stuff.
