Rain? What rain?
Rain isn't going to stop. I'm making plans to pontoon my 8. Maybe we can make it a cruise with Capt. Stubing from the Love Boat at the helm.
I'm up for a Lebanon/Morrow run some time.

WOO!
Saturday is looking good, though.
That's not very much time for planning..

Maybe later in May would be a better time for a meetup, due to all of the rain. I am in, if that sounds good to everyone else.
...We shall see if the Noah's Ark stops in Cincinnati soon!

I think may is a good target. WHAT IF we start here in covington, take route 8 to 275 towards hebron, then to competition racing in lawerenceburg for a few races? I'm pretty sure everyone has been to this track! it is a huge blast, they also have group rates so if we can establish a day and time... cheaper runs for everyone! then i feel like we can set up a tournament of go karting haha.
BUT heres the deal with my 8. I've changed all my interior panels to green, hate it. Now its gonna go back to blue hopefully before this proposed meet up. The hunt for wheels is depressing me since every set that i actually like it 2 grand and above.... coils have been found but sadly my wanting for a bike is slowly changing my mind on that.
be safe in these floods! the last thing we need is a hydrolocked rx8!

I wish I come out and play this weekend. Going to Louisville for a charity thing. Now if I can get my wife to pack light, we can take the 8 instead of the CX-7. An overnight becomes an adventure.
Did get the 8 out tonight around 5-6PM and tool around the backroads of Maineville/Loveland. Some douche in a mid-2000's V6 Mustard (er, Stang) thought he had the better handing car. I think I was driving at 5/8th while he was all over the road.
Anyone know if Fuel is open or underwater?

You'll get "stangs" like that quite often
Fuel is open. I drive by it every day too and from work
I will be a the Deal Gap Rotary Rally, so I won't be around t his weekend at all. Even without me there, Fuel is a good time though ChiefMG is usually there, and Redsun and kwikslver show up most times as well. Since it's supposed to be nice, go down and check out the vintage porsches that wil peak out, the bmw's, audi's, MG's, alpha's, s2k's, nsx's (yes plural), 350z's and a ferrari or two the will probably be there.

Yes, it definately sounds like we have a few of us interested in a meet. I definately think waiting a few weeks for the weather to break would be better.
One question, do any of you guys bring the wives along for the ride? Or is this usually a guy thing? Just thinking that if we have a get together, I don't want her to be odd-girl-out, plus it would be cool if there were other girls there for her to meet, (she's from Colombia). Just a thought.
I really need to get to this Fuel. - Next week (God willing the rain stops) I will get out the claybar and buffer and do it up for the Spring. (black cars and winter oxydation) then it will like good. I hate the thought of a meetup with my car in the decrepit condition that it is in!
Stay dry.

Anywho. My wife comes along every once in when i can talk her into it. I'll get her to come if your wife is coming. She loves meeting other South Americans! (she's from Argentina.)

That would be great, she is always looking to meet new people as well as I although this Saturday is not good for me as I have a mid-term to finish, but hopefully next weekend, and I'll see If I can get Tacti to come too, he mentioned fuel is a cool place and said to go there.

I am looking forward to a meet and where are all of these civics you speak of? I think that same Mustang was on my *** earlier on 22/3 in Maineville yesterday...I hate 'em! Fast Five this weekend and DGRR - who could ask for more...okay, well a nice tricked out FD would please me but hey, for the most part I am happy.

I'll try to bring my wife along when we do a cruise but I won't let her drive the 8.
I was in Puerto Rico last year when they were filming Fast Five there. A lot of the crew was staying at my hotel, and I got to talk to the guy who wrangles the cars for the movies. He said they had something like 400-500 cars to arrange for the shoots over the course of the movie. They actually paid the government in Puerto Rico a large some of money to close down a bridge for several hours a day for a couple weeks. The guy must be doing well with arranging cars for movies since it seems he lived a pretty decent lifestyle.

I thought finally I learned how to act like a good boy, after 28 years of being bad guy (AKA bachelor), and 2 years of marriage life...
what ever..
anyhow, if it's like daytime meet, I always love to bring my wife with me, but if it's anything before noon, it's way too early for her.
and i'll probably be at fuel as well next saturday.

To be 21 and have an RX-8. That's a good start on your lifelong car purchases. I think I had a 74 Camaro with air shocks at that age. 50 series polyglass tires too. I thought I was cool (note spelling is not kewl ) SunlightsilverREX, I'm sure I'll see you at Fuel some time this summer. Tomorrow I'm off to Louisville in the 8. Can't wait to see if I can top 20 MPG for the first time. 71 South the last time I was on it a couple weeks ago had pot holes the size of Ford Tempos from the 75/71 spit to Carrolton.

Anyone going to VIR for the Rolex May 13-15? I'm planning on going but not totally committed yet. There's going to be a Mazda corral again this year. Love that track from a photography standpoint. Took this one of Joe Foster/Patrick Dempsey during the race.

Here's the link to the Western Ohio SCCA: http://www.worscca.org/
And the one to Cincinnati SCCA: http://www.cincyscca.com/
Looks like most of the Cincy events are at Turfway. Looks like it would be a blast. Unfortunately I've never done it...the kid's always seem to have something going on.
