It's the Grand-Am Season Finale at Mid Ohio Tact. We git discounted car corral with infield parking along with other things.

seeing as how we are talking about mid-ohio. the scca is going up there july 29-30 for a pdx(and time trial if you meet the requirements). great chance to actually drive at speed in your own car on the track. you can save money and stay the weekend and work the races too if you want. i did last year and it was a blast. also i see another rx8 is already pre-reged. is that anyone form here?

So tonight I escaped the house under the premise of "getting dinner" and stopped by Quaker Steak. Just want to say the folks from SCCA were a super friendly group of people and I look forward to spending more time with them. I also brought back some wings for the family here and didn't tell them they were atomic...jokes on them, lol.

I can't make it out. Meeting went over, and I came home to my buddy making dinner as a thank you for letting him stay with us while in town.

I've been wondering about this for sometime..So how does everyone pay for their 8's? aka..what do you all do for a living? What would your dream job be?

>Al and Kevin
thanks for the info about the Mid Ohio.
Somehow I convinced my wife to go with me, so we'll see how my schedule works out...

and, I actually totally forgot about the quaker steaks until just now seeing everyone's post...
damn... sorry guys...

>Moete87
I'm fixing computers (or at least pretending like I know what i'm doing), for living.
I've been doing this since i was still in school, and I think I like it.
i'd love to be a car mechanics, but my skill and knowledge wouldn't let me do so...

>Moete87 A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away I once had this great paying job with the worlds #1 silicon manufacturer as a Training Coordinator but when they closed their doors my "severance" package was spent on Lucy, my 8. Now I am a world class poor a$$ college student. Maybe after I graduate I can get my dream job at the EPA doing audit work and buy Lucy a big brother - a totally restored 79 seven /drool. Unfortunately living off of next to nothing means Lucy gets zero mods for the next year or so...but she is one of my main sources of entertainment. I like to just go out and drive so she was worth every penny spent. Zoom Zoom...

I do IT. Mostly mac focussed. My dreams don't have anything called a JOB in them.

I really have no idea what i'd really want to do for a dream job. I stick with IT because it's decent money and I'm good at it. Not necessarily a dream though.

>Lycan When I was a pup in Oregon I had a 79 RX7 that I enjoyed using for TSD rally and tried my hand at auto x in it a few times but it was so "classic" stock that it was not the best on the course...lol, = I sucked as a driver and honestly as crazy as it sounds I would about hyper ventilate over trying to memorize the course so it was super scary to me when I did it. I really liked rally though because it was so scenic and it really hinged on having a good co-driver which at that time I was lucky enough to have. Starbucks huh... I knew I tipped my damn baristas too much! Now do the tips pay for that ride really or do you hustle on the side or something, maybe a bit of a gigolo perhaps?

yea we have had a road rally program form time to time but we need to get it back up and running. too bad you dont still have the 79 i have a huge soft spot for fb rx-7s. its funny you mention hyperventilating as a few of they guys i race with say they have to remember to take a breath after the race is over. and as for starbucks, it pays well but im also good with money...or a spoiled only child.

I also work in IT - network operations center at Cincinnati Bell. You wouldn't think, but a lot of IT guys are also into cars and bikes. At Cinbell alone, we have my 8, an s2000, an STI, a WRX, an M3, an M5, and a SL500 AMG in the garage, as well as a ton of bikes ranging from Ducati to harley and everything in between.

As for me I'm a industrial designer for a visual merchandising company (corrugated displays you see at the grocery store or the movie theater for example), but no dream job here... pays for the 8 and the bills, and I do enjoy doing it... some days more than others.

I'm in construction management working as a project management intern. I still have a year of school left, so my two internships have paid for this car.

My dream job would be being a driver for some rich person who paid me to drive their cars for a lot of money. Or just get paid a lot of money for me to drive them in my cars.
