Any RX8 Owners in Louisville?
#26
Does anybody know if there are any defensive driving courses in Louisville? I know there is a nice police track across from Long Run Park. I think that would be a fun event for us 8 owners, if anybody had any connections that could get us into something like that.. Titanium do you guys have anything on base that they would let us use for a small donation?

Indy RX-8 Club first meet of the year!
Hey guys...
Havent posted in a while, but thought I would invite you all to join us at our first meet in Indy on March 11th. All the info is in the forum. We will be having a meet to discuss events for this summer, and weather permitting, have a nice little mini-cruise!
We have a few Louisville guys that are active members and would really like it if you could join us!
Later,
Frank

There was a total of 21 cars that showed up. Nothing quite like filling up a parking lot with RX8's. After the meeting, we went for a mini cruise. The club had mapped out a two hour route thru some back roads. It made for some spirited driving.
The club is posting plenty of pictures and their working on a video. Check out the site when you get a chance and seriously consider heading up for the next meet.

There's more than a hand full of RX8s in the area. If you follow the thread, we tried to have a get together without much luck. There's still hope with the change in weather.
I went to the Indy RX8 club meeting on March 11th and had a great time. 21 cars showed up at the meeting and there was a 2 hour long mini-cruise after the meeting. Check you their web site. I would highly recommend you attend the April meeting.
They are a great bunch of folks just as hooked on their cars as anybody else. You can be there in 2 hours, and it's well worth the trip.

I'm good for any dates in April right now, or heck this weekend if anybody wants to go.. Maybe catch some tournament action ..
I probably wont have much time in May.. Our baby is due on the 16th, so May and June will probably be chill at home days
But anyways, if anybody wants to get together.. Let me know!

Mad Pole this is Jon with the BLK Cherry Shinka. You did really great at the last SCCA event. I will have to get much better to beat your time. Are you still trying to get a small caravan going up to Indy this weekend? If so please let me know.
Also, Matt good to see you on the forums. My little lady always appreciates being touched by his magic hands. LOL no not my wife, the car when he works on it. LOL
Now that summer is around the corner, I hope we can all get together soon. Madpole please let me know about the Indy trip.
Take care guys.

hey all Lousiville -8's. A group is getting together at Newport on the Levee for a cruise and meet on June 23 (two weekends from now). Details can be found in the following thread. Not sure how far of a spin it is for you guys in Louisville, but the more the merrier, right?!
Anyway, plan is meet at 3:00 at the Hofbrauhaus in N.o.t.L. and go from there. Maybe a couple hour cruise, then back to the Hofbrahaus for a beer or two. See you there!

Hey y'all. I'm a new RX-8 owner in Louisville. Bought a used one from King's Mazda up in Cincy on Labor Day weekend. It's a 2004, gray, with mazda body kit pieces & rear spoiler.
I'm new to the rotary scene, and honestly, to the car scene. I ride a Triumph motorcycle as my daily driver, and I've got a 2002 Nissan Frontier pickup sitting on 36" tires as my offroad toy. Figured I needed a car to have some fun with, so I picked up the -8.
I bought a Mazda3 last summer at Oxmoor Mazda, and was fairly impressed w/ the dealership from the buyer's perspective, though the customer service (service dept.) I've gotten there on the 3 has been spotchy. Unfortunately, the ex got the 3, but it didn't take too long to get me back into another Mazda!
So it seems like there's a bit of talk, but no real action for a Louisville meet & greet. Anybody up for trying again?
I see the Cincy group is having a meet this coming Sat., so if I've got some free time, I might drive up for that. Anybody interested in a carvan up there?

Normally I'd be up for a trip to Cincy, but with the UofL game on Saturday, I'll have to pass. It would be nice to have a get together in Louisville. There's you, me, ViperByte, Titanium30, Dbaise and a tech at Oxmoor Mazda that I know off hand.
I've been going to the meets with the IndyRX8Club since March. They're a great bunch of people. It's about the same distance to Indy as Cincy. We just got back on Sunday from a trip to the RX8 Brotherhood of the Dragon in Deals Gap NC. We rode the Tail of the Dragon, Hellbender and the Skyway for four days and had a great time. I haven't heard when the next club meeting is. I highly recommend you check out the site: http://www.indyrx8club.com/
It looks like the pictures are being posted as I type.
Hope to hear from you soon.
