I'll be out of town next week (Colorado for vacation). Have fun without me.

(no I'm not driving the RX8, flying my "mooney" out this time)

HSKR8 -- I met the guy that bought your CZ reservation at the Rocky Mountain Meet.

MooneyCJ -- it was only .5 MU to drive my 8 to Colo. and back You need to get a plane big enough to load your 8 and then you could fly and drive.

so RXHusker are you serious about joining up with the mountain clan>? if not, we really need to get the ball rolling (or the rotor if you will)

Well -- I was talking more about the RX-8Club.com forum -- NE to the Mountain board.

As far as our actual local group -- it may be an idea to discuss. They have a good infrastructure already established (website, cards, brochures, meets, etc.) -- all of the closest "great drives" are over there. We are actually just as close to Denver as the guys from UT, NM, AZ, etc. -- we should discuss becoming a part of their regional club with our own local chapter. Plus -- it is a great excuse to get out to the mountains at least once per year.

Colorado is nice country from what I hear, relatives that direction, but personally dont know about the drives (here to Denver is really boring). Wouldn't mind seeing first hand what the region has to offer. Looks like the Rocky Mountain meet went well, nice pictures. Like to hear more about it.

The 3 is in possession as of yesterday. Amusingly enough, I joined the ranks of the few and proud that have received a speeding ticket on the first day of owning a new car. *grumbles*...I honestly didn't know I was going 48mph!

You guys want to hit the ole pepperjax sometime next week? They're going to kill me here at work, I've been taking long lunches & leaving early so often lately. I'm ok except for Friday I think.

I'll have pics sometime soon I hope. It's a 5-spd titanium grey sedan, 2.3L, sport package (sills & 8-ish 17s), xenon & tpms package, and abs/sab package....and the price-hog navigation added on. I agree that it was an expenditure I didn't want to make....alas, sacrifices, sacrifices.

Thanks

Just make sure to be careful downtown when the bars let out. The age-old trap...

I was coming home from the bar, and had just put down two beers to quench my thirst from just getting done with hockey practice (goalies sweat a lot )...got to do the whole field sobriety test and in-car breathalyzer. That was fun. Don't worry too much - I'm adamant about not driving if I think I'd be around 0.08 bac. Times like these show why that's a good thing.

I'll keep an eye out to see if there's meet action going on next week.

Congrats on the new ride blizz81!! sounds nice. Sorry to hear of your recent troubles. I certainly feel visible (read neon) in the 8.

Sounds like an option for lunch next week at Pepperjacks, Thurs is open for me, or later (after 1230 to 100) wed. Honestly I have never been there but have heard good things. Leave in the am for the trip east so this will be my last two cents for input but really looking foreword to meeting other enthusiasts.

The Pepper Jacks I have gone to is at 132nd and Center. In the strip mall (on the NE corner) next to the strip mall with Valentino's in it, and there used to be a camping store (The Moose's Tooth) next to it>? this might be a more central location>?

I didn't realize there was one at 132nd -- much closer choice for most I am sure. I do have a golf outing next Thurs -- I am open every other day next week for lunch though.

The guy that did my midpipe/cat, coilovers, etc. would be happy to do it for you. He owns a speed shop down by 60th and Harrison (Speed World) -- good guy (Jason) -- pretty cheap -- has always been there to help when I needed it. Let me know if you want his number.

Otherwise -- all you really need for the catback is a few handtools, WD40, and ramps. Probably a 1 to 1.5 hour install. If I am available I would be glad to assist.

hehe...I wouldn't be ripping it during the first 1000 miles now would I?

It's titanium grey. Was funny...the day after, I was heading home and right by my apartment, passed a couple guys in a titanium grey S sedan w/sport pkg parked on the side of the street. The guy's neck about broke - I think he was peeping the navi screen :D

Ahhhh good to be home,

I feel sorry for all the people in the Chicago area. We got nailed on the way through I-80 for over 5 hours in stand still traffic. Some big accident with a hazardous waste spill.

Wed at Pepperjax around 1 should work just fine for me. Looking foreward to it.

I've seen a lot of 8s on the road lately (predominately women drivers, too!), but nothing like that!
