What in the wide wide world of sports got you guys working on RX8 panties. (I like the modeling idea part though, and who wanted to go to Hooters. connection mayhaps)
Hooters or Mckenna's either is good by me on the 8th, good food either way.
Worst gash I ever saw (on a human anyway) was from a 3 wood verses head. Hope all is well RxHusker!!!!!

I'm printing this out for my concerned mother that wishes I would just focus on golf instead of taking up hockey as well for reasons of safety.

Hooter's it is -- I assume the one on 120th & Center -- Is there another one? Believe or not I have never been to a Hooters before -- though I have threatened my wife with getting her a tee shirt and shorts :D
I had a really deep gash right on my cheek bone -- 5 stitches -- it was the wait in the emergency room that was the killer. My son was more upset than I was at the thought of hurting his dad -- lots of blood -- it was a mess.

I am at 9,000 miles right now.
I think the post is a bunch of B/S. Nobody has demonstrated that the ECU makes any changes at magical mileage markers (like 5k or 10k). The FD's had some sort of mileage trigger in the ECU at like 5k (I think -- I'm certainly not an expert on this). Rotaries have always been known to break-in well and gain strength as they aged -- but to say that at 10k something magic will happen and improve mpg or hp is absurd IMHO. My mileage has gotten better -- not sure if break-in or my other mods.
I also think the Renesis will prove to be a strong engine for boost applications -- it's just that Mazda protected the ECU so much that nobody is having much luck "cracking the code". I read that Racing Beat invested a couple hundred thousand on equipment to crack the ECU coding and so far has nothing.

I need to double check sources, but I am pretty darn sure at one point I read something where even Mazda admitted that there was a point like 10k, where the ECU would change over its programing. What changes or increases I do not recall, but just reading the post triggered a memory about this very topic and a discussion with a friend.
I am clear for the 8th, Hooters sounds great. I have not had their wings in a while.:D
RxHusker hows the battle wound?

The car meet was fun. No other rotarys were there however. My 8 got rock star treatment :D There were a few 350Z's and S2000's -- mostly Vettes and muscle cars. Wish I knew how they advertised these events so we could know in advance -- it would be awesome to show up with a contingent of 8's.

when were you there>? I did not see you! I got there about 7:30 ish and there was a fd there next to the red viper. My neighbor had some of the muscle cars there and he said it pretty much goes on every wednesday- and most people get their cars there right after work. I saw a couple z's as well-both were pretty much stock. did you see the lotus esprit>? or the studebaker avanti>? OH and there was a 1st gen yellow 7 there but it no longer contained it's rotary and one more thing- in the parking lot of the theatre there was a PAIR of bright orange volkswagon corrados that were all decked out- I thought they were cool! maybe next week sans rain we can make a big group appearance>?- or wait till the next week as we would have had our hooters meeting by then-

They meet every week on Wed. night?
I was there at around 8:30 -- I saw the Viper leaving as I was pulling in -- didn't see you or any FD's. I did see the Lotus Esprit -- almost mistook it for a Ferrari until I got a better look at it. I didn't drive through the parking lot at the movie theater.

was it a black wrx and was the man maybe hispanic looking>? cause a car fitting that description tried to race me on center yesterday during lunch even though there was multitudes of traffic! his car did sound QUITE mean! yeah we should plan on two weeks so at the meeting we can try and talk more "members" into going

*sighs*...while you guys were out looking at cars, there I was, sitting in traffic school. Get to go back tonight from 6-10 - that'll make it a total 24 hours worth of traffic school over the past 6 years. I can't believe some of the questions these people ask...
I might have to check it out one of these wednesdays if I'm not down at the ice rink... Let me know if you guys are ever planning to go as a group.

Blizz -- you better buy a radar detector
On the way to the car meet last night there was radar set-up all down Center Street just waiting for people wanting to show off their cars. Glad I hardwired my V-1 so its always on now.

Of course I say this after last year, blowing by a bike cop doing laser at about 95 in a 35 in the maxima on a sunny sunday afternoon. The one time I let another driver tick me off and really get on it....luckily he decided not to come get me

I speed very frequently and have only gotten two tickets in my life -- one in college (85 in a 55 on I80 back in 1987) and one 10 years ago in Iowa (65 in a 55 -- real ahole cop on that one). My point is -- the V1 is worth it's weight in gold -- that and I am VERY observant most of the time.

You are very unlikely to find a VG-2 or other radar detector detector in a state where radar detectors are legal. That's a bit of money for extra equipment and maintenance for a device that doesn't help enforce the laws in that area.
Meanwhile, please refrain from posting street racing stories on here. Thanks.

I hate to say it, but I seem to recall that the drive to Denver is like 8 hours or something like that and probably the worst part of that is, it's the most boring drive scenery wise, with the exception of finally seeing the Rocky's on the horizon.
Now the trip up I-25 from Pueblo to Denver is some of the best scenery I've ever encountered.

Membership in the club is $20 a year and, as RXHusker can tell ya, we're pretty well organized. You guys would make up a regional area of the club, so you could run your own events or join us for the main ones, or both. And we're developing some buying power and influence with the RX-8 tuners and vendors... check out our raffle prize list for proof of this. :D
