I've wondered where you have been Kain -- hope everything is OK. Jason said he put on your suspension and you had it real low -- said it looked amazing.

I had a really nasty infection in a muscle in my shoulder blade- quite wacky really and yet quite bad, internal bleeding- my meds then all started to clash with eachother- anyhow- am getting better finally and the 8 looks GREAT that low! they told me at the dealership they can barely get it on a lift! but I noticed a HUGE difference in handling with it that low at highspeeds and also when it is cranked super stiff, there is no end to the rush of REALLY nailing the corners- hey RXhusker- is Jason doing more work for you>? he also helped me with a HKS intake

Jason is going to do a little more suspension work for me. Otherwise I am probably just waiting for FI. I need to get my driveway redone so I can lower mine down to where I want it. I picked up a truck for the winter (stole a 2001 Dakota 4x4 Quad cab fully loaded for under $10k :D ) so I can just play with the 8 this winter.
We should try to have a lunch before it really gets cold.

Let me know when and where, and count me in for a lunch.
Kain sorry to hear about the illness, sounds like you are on the road to recovery though, hang in there.

Get it in as soon as you can!
This happened to me and i waited way to long and eventually, i lost 6th gear then 4th, 5th, 3rd, and it could barely move and i ended up towing it to get it fixed, they said it was a problem with my clutch/flywheel. and because of my modifications, it wasn't under warranty. Synchros and shift forks might be a part of the problem too!

Hey Hskr8,
I had the 8 in the shop for an oil change at Woodhouse awhile back and my 8 makes the same noise with the clutch. Asked about it and was told by the mechanic that it is a spinning gear for the clutch or something like that. sorry my mechanical skills are a bit low. Reguardless, the tech new what I was talking about because it was addressed by Mazda. Have not seen any problems with clutch or tranny (knock on wood). Ask Jamie at Woodhouse.
Any ideas for lunch sometime anybody, Wed afternoon and Thurs okay by me.

And you just accepted that? Full responsibility for the clutch and flywheel just because you had a K&N intake? You must be an incredibly tolerant/accepting person -- there is no way in H&LL I would have let my dealer get away with that. One short letter from your attorney would remedy the situation. Mazda has to prove that your mod was responsible for the issue (or was partially to blame in which case a ratable portion of the cost is assigned). Proving an brand name aftermarket filter/intake was responsible for the tranny would be quite a leap. Now if they have record of your 30+ 8500k clutch drops -- that is a different story :p

Hello all, quick couple of questions. Did anybody else get a notice from Mazda about PCM upgrade in the mail. Does anybody know if this is the "M" flash, or even a newer upgrade. The letter says it is to help with cold weather start up, and also has an update instruction for flooding.(including a recommendation to get a sticker over the appropriate page in the owners manual). Just curious.
Any takers on lunch next Wed (11-17) at approximately 1, say maybe at Buffalo wild wings.(just an idea :D )

Sioux Falls
My dad had a lawyer contact mazda, 3 lawyers actually but they didn't budge. Sioux Falls Mazda on 41st and Westport. I brought it back in 2 weeks later with my stock intake back in and then they bitched about tire wear and still refused. Oh well, i got it back now and it's fixed. Better not happen again/ atleast the place i had it taken care of at, gave me a warranty 12,000 miles- 12 months!

Hskr8 sorry to hear of your problem. I too will be taking the 8 in. Scheduled for tomorrow morning. The battery was dead after the weekend, two stinking little days. No interior lights, nada. And no I did not leave the door ajar. And yes it will go to Woodhouse. And yes I will be asking about the reflash as well.
I am hoping we are still on for lunch, although may be driving alternate mode of transportation. I hate being without my mobile gratification unit.

Hey Hskr8,
Glad to hear Woodhouse is treating you well also. They have always done right by me. Are you having them put in any Mazda speed parts with the engine apart?
My other women is in the shop now too. They found the problem with the electrical system. :D The nav was draining power even when off. replacement nav on route, should be in by tomorrow. May make that lunch meet with her yet.
Speaking of which, lets roll call for tomorrow. Anybody still planning on lunch, at approximately 1 at Buffalo Wild Wings (south of oak view mall, by about a mile or so)

I can make it.
Sounds like Hskr8 is in Lincoln. Hope the location isn't too far out for Kain. Anybody else in? Looks like it might be a nice day -- if we don't meet I will probably try to play 9 holes over lunch.
