Went to the Husker Recruiting Banquet last night -- what a blast!

Coach Blake (our recruiting guru) got the biggest response. One of his quotes was worth repeating ...

Talking about the recruiting effort of the entire staff...

"What they call Hell, we call Home. We goin' to turn this ***** around ... I will promise you that."

Needless to say that got him a second standing ovation from all 1400 people and sent chills up a lot of spines.

I got to sit next to Coach Wagner (offensive line coach) -- very impressive and personable guy. His recruiting territory was the west coast -- so he brought in Lucky, Jackson, Picou, Picou, etc. -- great job!

It's not that long of trip for me, so let me know toward spring what works, and i should have my car complete. March i will not have my car, but other than that, i'm good to go! have fun in arizona RXHUSKER, i'll be down there march 19-26 visiting grandparents in Tuscon.

You will be wishing you had your 8 down there!! I rented a 350Z 2 years ago when I went to Tuscon and it was fun -- great roads outside of town through the desert -- they king of dip up and down and turn like a roller coster -- very fun at 90+ MPH :D

I will be back down again to my home in Scottsdale March 13-20. I always wish my 8 resided there in the Winter. The rental cars just don't live up -- even the 350Z (handles like pig -- or a Mustang -- as difference).

National Car Rental in Phoniex rents 350Z's - Porsches - Vetts but you have to call them they don't list them on the web, every place rents Mustangs, Dollar rents Crossfires. I always fly to PHX not sure if you are flying to Tuscon.

What carwash do you guys take your 8's to when you are too lazy to handwash it?

I tried Dolphins on about 144th and Center yesterday.

I talked to the manager, and they recycle 1/3 of their water and he doesnt know what soap his own carwash is using!!!

This was after I put it through.

Now the finish is rough.

<sigh> Time to Dawn claybar and zaino again....

And the kids there were nuts, everything inside was clean and they still tried cleaning it. They dripped window cleaner on the insides of all my dash.

Is there any high quality wash place in town thats not going to cost me $50 bucks just to have the outside done?

Visual Perfection - 144th & Dodge in the garage of the Linden Place Bldg. (ask for Mark) -- $25 hand wash and interior clean. They take good care of my baby :D This is a full-service detail shop and they know how to do it right (they detail the new cars for the Porsche dealer, ***** T.'s many cars, etc.)

p.s. -- They also have a shop at Pacific Place and they will also put on your clear bra for $250.

I won't say I'll "never" take it to an automatic carwash again, but by using Z5 & Z2 and building up those coats, I have always washed it by hand.

In a pinch, I'll use the california duster on the car (if it's just dusty) and then a quick coat of Z6.

I have found that by using zaino stuff, it's actually easier to keep the car clean, and I generally don't even drive it if it's rainy out.

Those automatic car washes probably rip the entire zaino stuff right off your car, and if not rinsed well can eat into your clear coat I've heard.

Besides that, who want's that cheesy "hot wax" gunk sprayed all over the car anyway?

So in conclusion, hand washing, zaino, and a duster is all I use.
Lol, yeah...

This was the first time I had ever non-handwashed it since I bought it in July. I had taken it out in the rain and it got some road grease/salt on it and I was too busy that week to handwash. So I thought I would give "Dolphins" a try.

They are pretty expensive in my opinion, its 15.99 for interior vacuum and "touchless" wash only. But when I saw those greasy teenagers rubbing my 8 with their rags that have cleaned god knows how many cars I just wanted to smack myself in the face. Then they go up to a $25 wash with all their various snake oil "polysealants." I saw an M3 go in before me, and some mercedes, so I thought those people knew what they were talking about.... apparently not.

The only other carwash I goto(for my other car) is more of a semi-auto wash in Millard by my house. It's like 6 dollars for standard wash/sealant stuff.

Semi-auto meaning that there are people there that wipe your car a bit, but no interior vacuuming or stuff like that.

I really just wanted them to spray down the exterior, I didn't even know they were going to wipe the windows and vacuum. Oh well, lesson learned.

I got my bodywork done at Schrier Ford after my accident, and they included their premium detailing in the deal. It was like a $150 detail job(according to them). Not a speck of dirt or dust anywhere, the carpets, and seats were shampooed, the insides were flawless, the steering wheel and dash were conditioned, tires dressed, the works.

The outside looked great too, not a single drop of water anywhere. and it looks like they gave it a handwax.

But, upon closer inspection 2-3 days later in bright sunlight, swirl marks! I know it wasn't me, because I always wipe my door panels up and down like zaino recommends, and I didn't have swirl marks before this. They were very very minor, and I didn't really expect them to spend 2+hrs trying to get all that salt off of it , so I give them a B for effort.

So after that I was feeling "sadistic" enough to try a carwash.

144th and Dodge, is that over by that bank? I think I'll give that a try. The shop says I need to wait 30 days for my paint to dry fully before I wax it, so I guess its a crap shoot until I can get out there and do it myself.

If you guys are thinking about coming out to the Rotary Revolution with those sweet 8's, send me an email or pm with your first/last name and I'll create a space for the NE Rotary Club so you may receive the discounted price.
