I got a call yesterday -- they want to put my 8 in the World of Wheels show at the Qwest Center this weekend. :D Going to see if I can get it ready in time (tomorrow at Noon). Don't laugh if you see it -- they want to display it with 20" FOOS "bling bling" rims with my JIC suspension slammed all the way down They initially wanted some sweet 19" Volks but couldn't get them in time for the show

Hopefully I can make it down

Metro Audio heard about my car and wanted to put it in there display (with the wheels I mentioned) -- I didn't realize that they sell Volks, Racing Hart's, etc.

My car is actually in the shop right now -- FLOODED. My battery died while starting it (since it hasn't been driven much) and that caused a flood. Hope it gets fixed tomorrow

Thanks to MazdaManiac I am de-flooded :D

Now if I can get time to detail the car prior to 2:00 I can get it down to WOW.

Well -- it is detailed and down at the Qwest Center-- they just need to put those 20" FOOSE wheels on and slam it down Oh well -- not my style but it should look good.

I must say the car is a different animal with the turbo. I am only running 5 lbs of boost right now (til I get the boost controller and tuning done) but it really moves. I have to get used to the sound of an angry snake hissing at me when the BOV blows and the whistle of the turbo when the boost is going. Kinda fun -- but a little unsettling at first.

It will be "roped" in the Metro Audio display. Yes I got passes for all three days -- will try to make it down once or twice -- unfortunately I am pretty tied up this weekend. I don't think anyone will be allowed to touch or get in the car. I may even win a prize (Import Exotic class or something like that -- I know I don't compete against the Honda Civics :p )

I was wrong -- just got back from the WOW set-up -- no ropes Cars are going to be watched by the guys in the display -- Metro Audio has a huge display set-up including their new International Truck that makes a Hummer H2 look like a Hyundai Elantra

I will post some pre-event pics tonight. Lots of cool cars, motorcycles, etc. to look at. I had a bunch of people taking pics of my car and looking it over. There is a supercharged M3 next to me and nobody even gives it a look.

WOW!!!! :D RxHusker your car looks awesome, your day of detailing obviously went well. I am impressed with the engine bay, the greddy looks good from what I can see. Glad to hear she is running well for you too.

I hope everybody else is doing well, Kain havent heard from you in a while, are you still out there.

On a side note I had to sell off my alternate transportation, we had an Nissan Xterra for my wife, but it only fits 2 car seats and we will need a third this next fall. Hello minivan. :o My wife, to her credit, never even contemplated my giving up the 8.

Got to get back to work again, take care everybody, we need to think about lunch sometime now that the weather is getting nice again.

Thanks! Actually I saw your 8 parked at your work today -- I was helping a friend move and had to drive down Harrison St. Coincidentally -- I also saw you and your wife behind me at the Taco Bell drive through a week or so ago (180th & Center) in your Xterra. BTW -- Congrats on your coming addition :D baby seats fit pretty well in the back of the 8 -- My wife joked that I should put ours in for the WoW show.

Hey guys -- My 8 got "Best in Class" in the Euro Sports Custom division at World of Wheels! Don't ask me why "euro sports" class -- has something to do with having four doors.

On Saturday the WoW people came and did a professional 30 minute photo shoot on my car. I wasn't there but the Metro Audio guys said they were asked to prep the car and open the doors, etc. to various positions. Not sure why -- but they told me it was the only car they saw getting a photo shoot :D

If anybody local wants to buy my CanZoomer I will give you a special deal. I would rather see somebody here enjoy it. I could probably also arrange to have it installed for free. This really was a great mod for the money. I gained 20+ HP with the CZ, midpipe, Borla and high flow cat. Just the CZ is probably good for 15 hp.

Let me know ASAP -- the CZ is also posted for sale on the main board.

The turbo is GREAT

Under the bylaws of this fine forum I am barred from describing my stoplight encounter with an M3 last Wed. But I am sure that he is NOT describing it on the M3 forum

Ow, no one has tried to race me for a long time....

I kinda miss it

Maybe the blaring sub intimidates people... :p

Dang, last week I had shoulder repair surgery at bergan for repeat dislocations, and I have really been missing my 8. Saw a red 8 today with a sweet wax job and it really makes me want to go for a drive. Sigh, 3 more weeks of sling usage...

Brent -- you can borrow my laptop if you just need it for a short time. I have the GReddy support tool loaded -- you need this to upload the CZ map.

Well I finally made a decision on wheels and tires. After many MANY hours of pondering I have decided on gunmetal SSR D5R wheels with Falken Azenis RT-615 tires 235 front/275 rear.

I had really been eyeing the gunmetal Volk SF-Challenges and the SSR GT-3's but in the end I just didn't care for how "busy" they look with the rivets and the cosmetics on the Volks. The D5R's have a very clean 5 spoke look. I had the PS2 tires all but ordered for tires then decided to take a risk on the Falkens since they are new and a step above the PS2/SO3, etc performance wise -- should be fun!

hey everyone!!!! have been gone in Minnesota to care for my father until he died. sad story, anyway, I am getting rid of my 8 this weekend and trading for a better car now that I have some (quite a bit) of inheritance coming, plus a new car is just the thing to brighten my life right now. I will miss the 8 and will pry buy a 7 when they come out ANYWAY, I have some stuff to sell and will only do it locally since I don't feel like packing anything- so here we go real cheap stuff if you pick up

front and rear JIC carbon fiber strut bars- paid about 225 each for them- will sell for 40 a piece

carbon fiber engine cover- paid 3oo for it will sell for 50 OBO

2 carbon fiber rear spoliers- paid about 300 each for them- will part for 75 each OBO

carbon fiber hood- had the center part painted of the rotary symbol- looks hot has a little drppage on the underneath- you pry would not have noticed it had I not mentioned it- anyway- will part for 75 dollar OBO

Nitrous setup for the rx-8, was on my car with additional purge valve and bottle warmer, new it was like 700 all together, will part for 100 OBO

B and B muffler- paid like 600 for it- will part for 250 OBO or 100 if you remove it from my car and put the old one on- I need to know though by friday late night as saturday morning is when I am taking the car in to trade- thanx guys

Kain sorry to hear about your loss But glad to hear you are still around. Can't wait to see what you end up buying.

I will take your strut bars, engine cover and nitrous set-up - $230 AWESOME!!

Let me know how you want to handle it -- my schedule is flexible most of the time.

Jeff
