Update:
Well it wasn't the fuel pump after all -- traced the problem to the high flow/high temp cat (Random Tech). It was totally melted to slag and had clogged the exhaust. Made the car go very lean -- at least report that way from the rear O2 sensor on the dyno. Had a new midpipe installed and now going to the dyno again this week to finish the custom map for the InterceptorX. Also having a new intake fabricated -- getting rid of the crappy GReddy Airnix foam thing.

I doubt the numbers will change too much -- we already tuned once and then had the problem (melted cat). Just need to finish the tuning so it is perfect on the top end. Going back on Tues.
I put in a K&N cone filter set-up and had a new box fabricated so it isn't just sitting in the open engine area. Would have liked to use something like the REVi but it won't fit with the turbo.
The GReddy should be good to approx. 300 -- not sure how much more I think I would need -- it is tough keeping 300 safely on the ground
I figure this blower won't last forever so I will think upgrade later if desired. I really like the other aspects of the GReddy -- really fast spool up -- no need to relocate items in the engine compartment, etc.

I have listened to my practical side... fiscal responsibility... to not have 20+ grand tied up in a depreciating asset, but so far I haven't been able to do it.
I don't know if I can trade her...
I've haggled with dealers already, and as soon as thier game starts, I walk.. and have done it 6+ times already.
I don't really want to sell... but most 8 owners are also financially responsible people as well, and understand what that entails...
There is a deep rooted part of me that want's to keep this car for a very long time, and yet, I feel like I'm selling out if I do make the trade.
The next owner won't take nearly the care of her that I have...
I did sell my pickup, and I guess I'm just spewing stuff out there...
On the non-emotional side, it is just a car.. it doesn't help me start a business with that money tied up in it... but I also feel I have done well enough in my life to deserve this car, and appreciate it.
Hopefully this is making some sense to everyone, and if you have any positive feedback, I'd be more than willing to hear it.
Thanks in advance,
Hskr8

Are you thinking of selling any parts off your car?

Woody -- 79 posts and this is your first time on the NE/IA/Omaha sub-board -- a belated welcome .....
Hskr8 -- you have already depreciated the asset .... a friend of mine sold his 350Z last year to "fund" a business -- every time I see him he says it was the dumbest thing he has done -- bought a cheap Hyundi to feel like he was sacrificing for the business but in reality he really didn't save anything to speak of in the transaction and now he hates every drive he takes
Having known you awhile now I know that whatever decision you make I am sure it will be with much deliberation and soul-searching ![Smilie](https://www.rx8club.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Well I thought the getting rid of the melted cat would save me from replacing the fuel pump -- but alas the pump is still insufficient -- going to do a little double testing tonight and likely have to put in a higher capacity pump this week.

RXhusker - I have been on for a while, but stay mosty in the DIY section and discussion.
I think that I have seen your car in the bottom parking garage out west on Dodge. I am a consultant for MSI, so I don't go to the office much. Last summer I worked out of the office for a couple of months and parked east of the building. Don't know if you have seen my car there or not.

That's me -- my office is on the 2nd floor right next to where MSI moved their HR Dept. I saw your car a lot last summer out my office window -- kept wondering who else in the building had an 8.

Not in omaha, but the closest is Mid America Motorplex http://www.midamericamotorplex.com/2006/default.asp
They have a 1/8 mile drag and a road course, you need to be "orientated" to drive the road course.

How does Sunday August 20th 3pm work for everyone?
Meet at Zorinsky Lake drive and photo/video shoot, then a trip to buffalo wild wings for some eats and drinks.
