Central Iowa Meet Date TBD
So like title says, i have seen a few iowan's wanting to meet up and i thought "hey its summer why don't we all meet up at Des Moines local attraction; Adventure land!" We could get together in the morning and maybe spend some of the afternoon in the park. This is for the few that may make a long trip. So they can have something to do and not just drive for a meet. Also those that are married and have kids, you know who you are!!
And for the dates I was thinking maybe 4th July weekend? but Everything is up for discussion. if anyone has any better/good ideas go ahead and trow them out. We can then all discuss what benefits everyone.
Thanks
Diego

I love having a meet in Iowa, and Adventureland is cool with me too, but we already have plans for 4th of July weekend. I would guess that a lot of other people might already have plans for that weekend too.

I will be in Des Moines for a week sometime in July. I'm just not sure of the exact dates yet. It probably won't be over the 4th though. I'd love to meet up with but I'm probably not going to make Adventureland.

Hello out there!! We need to revive this meet idea. I'm voting for Cedar Rapids and Palisades Park or Iowa City at Sugar Bottom, or somewhere around the rez... We'll have to make sure that the water is all down and scout out some spots for good pics. Or, maybe Jones park using one of the pavilions. We could grill, maybe play a friendly round of disc golf and plot out a little cruise, maybe hit a movie? Who's with me? !!!

lol, I'm sure you have plenty of time before we can get anything organized. It would be nice to get some of these owners in town to join up. There's a girl driving a gray 8 that goes to Aspen, I'll have to talk my wife into telling her about the 8 club. The guy I talked to with the BB lives in Stoney Point a few houses down from my in-laws, I'm sure I'll see him again. I could make up some flyers too, to get people on here or the Facebook page and get them in on the information if they're interested.

I just saw this and if something gets put together I'll try to be there. There is a body kitted BB in town here that I've been trying to catch. If I can I'll tell him to look up the site and this thread.

RG (and others) I'd be willing to make the drive either the weekend of the 16th or on the 23. I can't really do the 22nd due to work. If This works for people let me know. I'm sure we can find a park to invade and do some grilling and maybe a drive if someone knows a scenic road around there.

I'll be staying at the Extended Stay at I-35 and Hickman so I'm on the west side. I stay there every year. It depends what people want to do. Around here it's common to get together at a restaurant. I don't have a whole lot of time during the days while I'm there so an Adventureland type of meet is out. I am going to the state fair one day though. I was thinking we could meet up somewhere like the Machine Shed to eat or perhaps some other place like Rock Bottom or Granite City. I'm a sucker for brewpub/restaurants.
I'm not going to get any farther east than about Newton. I will be heading north to Austin, Minn one day though and as far west as Adair on another day. I am driving up from Houston so I'll be coming in and leaving from the south. I wouldn't be able to make a Cedar Rapids meet or a western meet such as Omaha. Des Moines is about the only thing convenient for me if you can call a 1000 mile drive convenient!

^Nice, I know exactly where that is. Not too far from my place. The Machine shed would be awesome!! Rock bottom or Granite City isn't bad either. I'm ok with those ideas. Anyone else?

Make it a weekend afternoon or evening and I'm game. Never tried those places mentioned but know a good place next to hotel Fort Des Moines called Racoon river. Good beer and food there but can be a tad spendy. Having never tried the others though I'm good for trying a new place.

Raccoon River is good too. Of course if you want to stay downtown may as well go over to Court Ave Brewing. Like I said, I'm a sucker for brewpubs and frequent all 4 of them when I'm there.
I'm going to have a pretty busy schedule while I'm there so I may only be able to meet up with local people in the evenings. I usually go out at night to one of those 4 places anyways. Daytimes are going to be difficult. I'm getting there on a Saturday night and leaving the next Saturday morning so weekends are going to be tough. During the week, one day I am driving to Austin, Minn another day I'm driving west to Greenfield, that Tuesday is my grandmother's 89th birthday, and one day I'm going to the fair. I'm even trying to get to Boone to ride the train one day if possible so mid day is going to be next to impossible for me. Evenings are much easier. I guess the first Sunday evening works too and the last Friday evening works if that's the only time some can meet up. Anyone interested in meeting up I'll be more than happy to PM my phone number to.
