well i got my magnet today.

One question, is there a reason why autobarn was choosen and not another dealership? ALso would anyone know if they have a tech that specifically does rx-8 only and how is their service. i go to wilkens and its good service with one guy specific for rx-8's. however, it is kinda far for me. Just wondering how their service is.

The autobarn was chosen because this is where I purchased my vehicle. I also spent a lot of time shopping there and got to know them a bit. When I kicked around the idea of having a meet they offered to help out.

The service at the Autobarn for me has been very satisfactory. I have found that the mechanics they have are very well trained and knowledgable about the Rx8.

No one is asking you to use the Autobarn for service. It is just a meeting place since they offered the room and the food. More for information and fun. Feel free to invite your mechanic from Wilkens if you want.

Perhaps in the future we can schedule something at Wilkens? Join the Rx8group.com site and lets get something started. We are here for everyone who shares the evolution.

I was just wondering why autobarn was choosen, those were one of my option places as well. I think u misunderstood my question a bit, but thats ok. I would like to move my service to a closer place, like autobarn, i wanted some input on how their service is. but thanks for the info on the service. i will try it out the next time.

Yes they are 1st class! Treated me well even though they overcharged me on my original loan, which is now paid off. They issued me a check right away for the mistake. The Finance officer is no longer there either.

They have moved to a new location on La Grange Rd. But still great service.
I went there 3 times before buying my 8 and also visited other Mazda dealers.

I would certainly recommend them to anyone who is looking for an 8.

OK guys the planning stage is now in effect. Please post your interest in our new poll that has been added to what you want to see and talk about at the meet. We are hoping to get some good info for you from Mazda and the other attendees.

Join our forum to add your opinion to the poll here. http://rx8group.com/v-web/bulletin/bb/viewtopic.php?t=2

We have a lot of interest but no one is giving any input. Let's make this fun and interesting for everyone who attends.

I'm an 8 owner from TX and I'm visiting family here in the Chicago burbs and I can't wait to see some 8's on the road. It's exciting to see them back home but even more so when you're away. Like a immediate bond we all share. Keep 'em comin baby!!!!!

So dazygirl, are you in Chicago right now? If the weather gods permit, maybe some of us from here can meet up sometime before you leave. And also if there isn't any snow on the roads we could bring our 8s out for a short cruise too. Anybody else keen on getting together?

Dont forget the Revolution is April 22, 23, 24. Please come and be part of the largest rotary motorsport event in the country.

If you move this event to a later date, perhaps in the summer??..I could bring my autocross equipment..there is another thread about an rx8 autocross club..I posted the offer there as well.

I know some Indy folks would love to come up during taste of Chicago or the Jazz fest...??date ideas?

Since Im a former Wheatonite and spent some time in Lincoln Park, I (and a few Indy folks) usually attend Chicago 7 events and would love to attend this one.
