wtf mate! the car wont start this morning and i had to miss work. any ideas on how to fix this problem i drove the damn thing 2 days ago with no problems starting. a few months ago i was having the same problems but it was that the pos battery terminal was loose so i replaced it with a heavy duty one. both terminals look find right now

i can unlock the doors and get the dash lights to come on. but the crank just clicks from lack of power. i have 2 different types of battery boosters but i have lost the charging cables to both lol. the same thing was happening a few months ago and i thought it was the battery, but it turned out to be a loose connector and the battery test show it to be fine. so i replaced the connector with a heavy duty one and that fixed that problem. i think it might be the cold idk but im gonna have to get the dam thing started today some how cause i have to work tomorrow as well and im going to catch hell for not coming today i hate the winter

ok i need the brain trust
i got my car to start this morning with the help of my roommate and some jumper cables. i dont remember if the cel was on at this point but it is on now. i let the car idle so i could build some charge in the battery. i remember seeing something from the back of the car be it snow or smoke not sure. but as soon as i saw that the idle went nuts it started bouncing from 2k to 600ish and the cel was on. i let it do this for a few mins then shut the car off. after restarting the car the idle was about 2k and the eng was warm. if i stepped on the gas it would very slowly increase the rpm to 3k and hold it there and then when i got off the gas it would go back to 2k rpm. so i think its in limp mode what are your thoughts
ok turns out the car was just really cold and it didnt like to wake up that early. all i did to fix the problem is clear out the pcm doing the break pedal reset. the cel went a way a few mins after

Hi All,
I sold my 8 earlier this year and my winter tires/wheels won't fit on the new car. They're for sale for local pick-up. I'm in Carpentersville:

...pondering...
So, there obviously a lot of discussion on oils to use and whether to use any additives in the gas (2 cycle oils, cleaner etc) but much of the discussion is coming out of Florida and California - given our climate is a bit different here in Chicago I have questions for the owners here.
1) what oils do you run in summer/winter - how long have you been doing that, any positive negative results etc.?
2) Do you run any fuel additives?
3) Is there a good rotary shop in the chicago area which isn't a dealer that has an opinion on this topic (if I get it serviced, the dealer will always be putting 5w20 in it).
(I am gonna post this on the MW page as well to try and draw responses from some of the MN and other winter drivers too but I wanted chicago specific responses cause other states won't be able to comment on a good shop)

I plan on using Castrol 10W40 year round. To date, my oil has been changed by the dealer. That will change with the next cycle.
2) Do you run any fuel additives?
I add 3 oz of 2 stroke oil to each (13 gal) fill.

The dealers by oil bulk. I have been told that when they change the oil, they use 5W30. The only rotary shop, in the Chicago area, is too busy to do minor repair work.

1) I run the 5w20 year round... I have been told that switching to 5w30 or similar can be helpful when it is really hot out in the summer though
-Al: does the 10w40 seem to help/make a difference? Same question on the 2 cycle oil at each fill up
2)Ive never used any additives
3) Only been to the dealer so far, but since my warranty is about up that may change soon... Id also like to hear if there are any good shops around.
I mainly use my 8 for daily driving, so I may not notice the difference in changing up oil or using additives

don't waste your time unless you like dealing with incompetent people. They are terrible at customer service....and even a simple thing like answering a question or calling a customer back.
I was very disappointing with dealing with them.
Anyone have a different experience?
