Ok, this is just a cut and paste from RC3 to keep everyonr up to speed so don't think that it's not addressed specifically to you.
Ok...I'll say this here and hopefully this will be the end of it. I will also send this out in the next newsletter (whenever that will be) to let all those who don't frequent these boards know the goings on.
To clarify, there was no disagreement about the location per se. I'll leave it at that as the rest is irrelevant for this post.
I will apologize here as the admin/owner of the site since I didn't realize things were getting to where they went. I have a good sense of humor and take things lightly most of the time as I just choose not to address those things that are not of particular concern to the bigger picture. However, I am throughly disapointed in the fact that she has decided to step back for a while, but not at her, but the situation in general.
I'm a huge proponent of free speech, but at the same time, there's a time and place for everything. I don't want ANYONE here to feel unwanted, uncomfortable or otherwise wary of showing up at meets, events or anything for fear of being offended. I agree that there are those who are overly sensitive about things and even the most lighthearted joke will be misconstrued...those situations will be addressed accordingly, however, those in bad taste, out of place, obviously offensive or otherwise without tact will be immediately deleted (well, as immediate as I can get to it anyway) and warned. Any further infractions will result in a ban for an undetermined amount of time. As much as I hate to have to do this, self restraint is common sense and we are all adults.
Again, my intention was not to make this just like any other forum. There's quite a diverse group of rotary owners here, and a whole lot of 8 owners that I'd love to bring back into the group. I need to prove to them that this is the place that they can go without worrying about any issues like you see on other national level forums. We all have our own "clicks" but all with a common interest. So, let's start over here and with a clean slate. If anyone has ANY issues with ANYONE on the forum, don't come to me first. I'm not your father, superior, chief, general or even president (though that is a nice title) I'm just the guy who loves these things as much or more than you. I encourage all of you to address the issues in a POLITE manner with the individual that you feel may have done something that isn't right. If you think the issue isn't being resolved, then please PM or email me and fully explain everything that's going on and I'll address it myself in the most fair manner I can.
This is another reason why I'd love to get a board of some sort up and running. I can't do everything myself (as much as I tell myself I can). Additionally, in the interim, I need a VP, preferably from the 8 side of the house for equal representation. I'll take anyone who's interested and if more than one, I'll make a selection from subsequent conversations with them.
We have 11,700+ hits to the site and 327 members (that's HUGE) but only 94 active. We need to get our numbers up. We need to act as a community. We SHOULD be acting as a community.
If anyone has any questions or comments please feel free to PM or email me.
I've copied this on 8 club since I know a lof of them aren't here at the moment.
Happy rotoring!!!!!!!

Haha, well I guess my taking a step back from RC3 temporarily has turned into firing me as the VP.
Nice way to let me know Christian

Aero 8 - were you at the Rockford Airfest this weekend? Cause your avatar pic sure looks like the Heritage flight of the P-51, F-15 & F-16. We were there Sunday.

That's exactly what it is I was there on Saturday with my grandfather and uncle. How was the weather when you were there? We had some rain and a lot of clouds, so they couldn't do high altitude manuevers. Other then that I was very impressed the show.

We've been to the show the past 3 years - they always seem to have crazy weather - last year the show was late summer and the weather was wierd then, too. It was pooring rain when we left the house, but was fine once we were there. Lower cloud cover than was preferrable, so the Blue Angels had to do their lower altitude show and so did the golden knights, but no rain (although it looked threatening at times). Did you guys have the fly over by the B1-B Lancer or the F-117 Stealth? They were supposed to be there, but they weren't on Sunday (I'm guessing weather was an issue). We stayed around at the end, I was with my son (11) my stepdad and my brother-inlaw, and we got my son one of those yellow Blue Angels baseball hats, and he got the front bill of it signed by all 9 Blue Angels pilots (the 6 team + 3 others) Great day overall.

I thought you left too RSD. Maybe its because of the thread that was made mentioning that you left and whatnot....
Course it was kinda confusing for a while since you were at the last meet...

That's awesome that you got their signatures. We walked around after the show, but didn't go by the pilots.

I didn't know there was a thread about me leaving.
If you read my post on RC3 it says that the reason I left was because of personal things going on in my life: those things will change with time and I never closed the door. I said if circumstances change, I will be back in the future.
I told Christian on Saturday that I would lay low as far as RC3 to keep the hoopla and all to a minimum. Hoping it would just subside. That's why the above post was such a surprise!

edit: I'll leave my answer, but see now that RSD beat me to it.
