If you don't track the car, you don't need anything more than oem pads.

Unless somebody local here has some slightly used but good condition OEM's they're looking to sell...don't know if any of you track guys switched the OEM's out a long time ago or something like that...

I have some used OEMs...I'll have to check how much wear is on them, though...I'm guessing they have about 75% compound remaining both front and rear...

Do you go to the autoparts store for your brakes? I like Raybestos pads. I hate Bendix. Bendix pads seem to wear out fast.

Actually, the last car I did brakes on (and when I say "I", I mean my brother-in-law and me, since I'm a bit out of my element with it) was probably 9 years ago and I don't remember the brand - since then, it's been dealer brake jobs. This time, looks like my brother in law will be in town so I'm gonna have him help me with the brakes and my sirius install.

But the nice thing about Bendix is that once you wear out the first set, they are lifetime warrantied, so you go back with your receipt and get another brand new set.

Speaking of squeeking brakes... I think the best quote I ever saw on here (or was it another rotary forum) was "There's nothing quite like pulling up next to a sexy girl in your car, and hearing your brakes squeal like stuck pigs..."

As soon as I wear these out I'm going with some nicer pads!

I think it was here. I remember reading that, and the subsequent flaming he got for trying to impress the ladies with his car...

Sorry to hear about that for both of yours sake. Yes, we know him. He hasn't been around since last fall that I can remember. He is in retail and I figured he was busy for Christmas. Personally, he has been a nice guy. I haven't had any business dealings with him.

BTW: Stealth, let us know when your in the area. We have a meet coming up on the Feb 2nd. Or we can schedule a special Mini-Meet in your honor.

Agreed with everyone else, he comes across as a good guy from the times I've met him...maybe just an honest mistake, but still sucks either way...

Yeah, that is a suprise. He's the one that tried to help me get that canopy for cheap for our track day last fall.
