May have seen you

Not sure if you are the same guy, but this past weekend was a record turnout of RX-8s in a long time. I saw four different cars this weekend. Titanium at Best Buy, Silver on Prairie, Silver with spoiler at Famous Dave's BBQ, Silver on Milwaukee (probably the same one from Praire), and a Red one on Rt. 60.

I was the guy in a yellow RX-8...so far the only one around in the local area. I am in Vernon Hills.

Wink Cool!

Titanium,
Nice to meet you. I am glad to see that some of the RX-8 owners are on this list. By the way, congrats on the Borla exhaust. If I ever run into you again, I got to see it in person. I kind of have my heart set on the Greddy but I am in no hurry since my wife is already complaining about me having way too many expensive hobbies. Just need to find a way to spread the purchases out ;-).

I think I have seen maybe two other 8's so far. I live in Bartlett and work in Downers Grove. I'm sure I will see more once it gets nice out.

Hey there... I'm usually found commuting between LITH and Schaumburg during the week for work. I'll keep my eyes open for you...

I saw both a blue and a silver this past weekend around my neck of the woods... must have been the great weather we had. The blue had blue tinted license plate covers front and back- I thought that was a cool way to make them blend in (since I don't bother to run with a front plate .

Hey, I live in Lakeview (around Belmont and Sherida) but my parents live in Buffalo Grove, so I'm there almost every weekend. I have the red 6MT RX8 and I love it!

Has anyone flashed ECU to bring the mileage up? I really want to do it, cause i'm getting about 14 mpg in the city ((

I just filled up this morning- my first full tank after the 'L' reflash came out to 17.97mpg. I had been averaging 16.5mpg over the last 6 weeks fairly consistently, so there was a improvement- not huge, but still noticeable.

I am always in the Algonquin, Crystal Lake & Lake in the Hills and I am also cruising in the Schaumburg area a lot too. Anytime you guys want to hook up and meet eachother let me know! Love my 8. Just had the recall done for airbag and an unfortunate first flooding experience thanks to the hubby!!! I asked the dealer to flash the ECU but he asked me what my gas mileage...I said between 13-15mpg and he said well, they are getting 15-16mpg on average anyway and he would do it only if there was a bulletin from Mazda about this. I tried. It bothered me that the sticker says 19mpg and it's acceptable to get 13-15mpg. I'd be ok if it hit 17mpg since it varies on conditions, the way you drive etc. Hope to see an improvement come warmer temps. Hope to se ya around....if it's me I will wave!

So when are the NW burb/Chicago 8's gonna hook up? I know everyone wants to get into warmer weather....get there snow tires off...add some new mods to show off. I would think like Woodfield parking lot would be a big enough place (and central). Lets do this!

Hey, hppy4u I wonder if it was me on 60? I have a Red GT. I work in Vernon Hills and go up north on 60. I haven't driven it much since Nov. I can't bear to drive in the salt. Now that it's getting nice, I plain to drive to work every day it doesn't rain of course. She doesn't like to get dirty either.

Glad to see so many RX-8s are on this list.

Master Fuol= If you see a yellow 8, that would be me. If you were real lucky this morning you would have seen my car being flat bedded to the dealership. Car would crank but engine wouldn't turn over. Hope to see your car on the roads...it's been pretty nice cruising around in the wet/snow :-)

Audioslave8= That yellow 8 was probably mine since I am local and spend a lot of time at the usual spots...ie Circuit City, Best Buy, Westfield etc.

Where can you flash ECU in Chicagoland area?

Hi guys! I own a red RX8 with one of the common fuel consumption problems (the most I got once for highway driving was 15mpg).

Where can you flash ECU in Chicagoland area? My Autobarn Evanston dealer refused to flash it even though I said I had Check Engine light on...

Where can I do it???

hello everyone

anyone interested to buy a Clifford matrix rsx3.5 remote start for a decent price. I got it as a gift but I already have an Audiovox remote start on mine. I prefer selling it around the Chicago/NW burbs so I can deliver it right away (drive it to you) and will save you guys S&H. I work around West Dundee but live in Chicago. PM me for questions. Thanks

Sounds good to me- this weekend doesn't look great, but the following weekend (27-28) would be great. Also looks like the weather is warming up into the 50's next week...

How's that work out for everyone?
