Hope not man. I def want to get a meet going. I think its suppose to be gorgeous this weekend. But I know my schedule is open every weekend. Just want to get everyone on the same page and see when they are free and are willing to take a few hours and meet up and just bs. I know for sure that I am going to the Concours D'Elegance at Ault Park on June 11, 2006.

Welcome to the club man. I drive a black 8 with clear corners and strakes. I use to work valet down at newport on the levee. So the past 2months or so I was down there alot. Its a struggle to get everyone to meet up. Seems like no one checks these forums anymore for the cincy thread. What year is your 8? Plan on doing any modding to it?

welcome to the club. i drive a blue 8 and live in clifton. i'm in kentucky about once a week to go to gameworks thursday nights. aside from this month, i'm free for a meet just about every weekend, it just seems kind of hard to get everyone on the same page here.

Welcome man, I am down in NKY as well and just bought my 8 a few weeks back....Ti Gray.

Nodoz...I forgot you were heading out there! Now that I think about it, I remembered seeing a nice, blue 8 in the paddock area that wasn't racing. You should have walked up and said hi! Unfortunately, I had to run in the 1st group and ditch out early to go to a funeral, but I will be back at the autox in Sharonville again this Sunday bright and early, and should be out there all day! Get your car preregistered at www.myautoevents.com! It'll be a blast! BTW, did you get a chance to take a ride with anyone?

i just observed mainly. i want to get a ride with danny (the corvette tuner) but he's not going to be in an event any time soon. that was my blue 8 you say. i'll be out there again sunday. i'll even put it on the course as long as it doesn't rain.

it's funny, the silver 8 that was #13bs was the same guy i was trying to by a rx7 fd off of last year. the bank wouldn't approve a loan for over the bluebook value of it, so i had to save up the rest of the money myself and after a while i was thinking "man i really want something with a warrenty." he was cool about it though. come to think of it i should have asked him for a ride along.

btw what pressure do you inflate your tires to?

I am gonna go max press in the back (according to tire) and a few psi less in the front....I didn't mess with it last week b/c of the rain. I am just learning how the pressures affect everything, as I am a newbie too. When you saw me last week....that was my first race! I have only had a driver's school before, but am already addicted....it is sooo much fun.

I must say for those of you who haven't tried it yet, autocross is a blast. It's legal reckless driving, and they time you! Seriously though this car seems like it was made for this sort of thing. My first run I got an 86.xxx with a dnf, and then proceeded to dnf my next two runs. After a ride along in a previous rx8 owner's wrx, I learned a bit more about when to stay on the gas and a few better lines to take. I was able to pull out a 69.0xx clean on my last run after getting all those butterflies and first race jitters out of my system. I left the traction/stability control on the whole time - and saw that blinking icon on the dash on several occasions especially out of those hairpins. I'm pretty sure i could have dropped a couple seconds without it - yet I'm also pretty sure I'd have spun out without it as well. Did you have tc on when you spun out John? Anyways I am officially addicted. I'm going to try to get to as many of these as I can. Hope to see some more people from this forum come out and run a few times as well.

I am glad you had a good time....it was nice meeting you!

You did really well for your first time out! Once you feel comfortable pushing the car harder and harder, and learning where to push it vs when to lay off, you will see those times creeping lower and lower!

hehe yea the spin out..........that was soooo much fun. No I didn't have DSC or Traction Control on for any of the runs as it usually steps in too soon and makes it very hard to get the car around the sharp corners. I did the press/hold DSC to totally shut off the system. Yes, it prob would have kept the car from spinning, but that was my own fault and the car felt balanced the rest of the course without it.

The numbers were ordered from www.soloracer.com for about $100. Yes, it is pricey but they give you up to 4 numbers (I would select all 4) and up to 3 letters (we only need BS but I would add on a 3rd letter since its free...perhaps predicting a future class). In the end, you can do all sorts of combo's with those 4 numbers that you never really have to worry about someone else having the same car number.

alright. i just pre-registered for the rest of the scca events and one of the cincy sports car club events. i guess i'll get my letters sometme around next paycheck. i've gotta go out of town for a week during of the 20th and 21st, but now i'm contemplating sticking around for one of those days to see who shows up. technically i can just leave that sunday night, so i could get in it, or at least watch. i just hope no one has my number yet.

If you preregistered, you can go to view the entry list and it shows the number selected. It is reserved at that point.....but be sure to select the 2nd/3rd options that fits the combination of numbers you purchased.

wow, no posts for a while.

so what's everyone up to? i'll be at the two day autox saturday and sunday if anyone want's to come. i won't be competing though, because i'm going home to illinois for a week for another graduation and i don't want to risk my car getting damaged. for those of you who haven't come out yet, i really suggest you come and observe, and compete in one. it's probably the most fun you'll have driving around.

i was up in columbus sunday for my cousin's graduation and i didn't see one 8 there. now if only i drove up there, i could have been getting all the stares and "wow, nice car" comments.

damn i'll have to miss that one due to being out of town for a week to see my little cousin's graduation. i'm definatly up for a meet any other time though.

just got my vanity plates today, so now if you see a blue 8 with NODOZ on the rear plate you'll know whose it is. on a sidenote, getting plates/registration in ohio is a jack. back in illinois, when you bought the car they let you choose a vanity plate at the dmv for no extra charge, and mailed it to your house along with your registration. and the registration begins the date you register the car and lasts a year from that date - not on your birthday. this state is going to get 3 registration fees out of me this year because of this stupid birthday thing.
