I'm not a big fan of the Hilton myself. Too expensive for what they offer imo.

 

They have suites with pool tables.

 

Chicago is a big place. Maybe if you stayed somewhere close to ChinaTown or the Navy Pier. (maybe within stagger...er.....walking distance). And believe me...if it's close to a NAVY Pier...there's gonna be all kinds of wild-n-crazy stuff to do!

Big D lives in Springfield, which is consideribly south of there...3 hours I think. BUT, he might still make it, depending on his workload, I'll bet. BUT WATCH HIM....once wound up, I'd be willing to bet he'd give ANY of youse a run for your money in the Party Hearty Locker. :D :D :D

I find this odd, since another 8 owner and myself tried to organize an RX-8s of Florida group, but were met with blazing opposition from the RX-7 members flaming our efforts in the Southeast Regional Forum. The attitude we received was, "No...you don't need your own group. You'll join ours or we'll come over on the RX-8 board and FLAME your efforts." Which is exactly what happened.


We either join your activities or get flamed for organizing our own.

We either submit to the RX-7club humor, or shut up. (we're tight-*** snobs anyway).

Join our RX-7club "Folding@Home" program, giving others access to your computer. If you don't, you're NOT a "ROTARY BROTHER".

I've read some of the threads on the RX-7club forum.

Besides having a "Kills Section", which is against the Terms of Service on this forum, you have such threads as:

Calling All Black People WOW! What a collection of racism!

While Masturbating the Other Night

and

So i almost cut my dick off and break my neck on acident to..

Not to mention the thread where all the posters where going to OTHER forums to cause as much trouble as they could, then coming back to brag about their accomplishments.

Have you ever stopped to think that even though you're the Head Weenie for both forums, you may be dealing with two completely different styles of people? We're constantly given the RX-7 guilt trip, but then treated like we THINK we are snobs or have "puckered little booties."

Well, I would say that I do. The reason is that you and I never converse on here. The last time we talked to eachother in a thread you had also made the same type of comments. That was also the first time we'd ever communicated. I shrugged it off as a joke and even made some jokes about it myself.

You normally don't post very much. Since then, one of the few things I saw you post was when you said we 8 owners need to lighten up. Then, today I see all this pessimism as well as another jab at me being an attention *****.

To my knowledge, no one else besides RXGR8 has done so. Given that RXGR8 and I have exchanged posts in forum, talked in chat, and talked on the phone, I know that RXGR8 jokes alot. I never converse with you, so when I see such negative comments about myself and other 8 owners, I can only assume they are serious, and yes, I do have a problem with that.

I'm ready to put this behind us as Id rather not discuss this in open forum anymore. However, I invite you to PM me if you wish.

OR.. maybe if they have a conference B&B or house, such as the mansion, we could get in a particular area! :D

I think something nice, yet not overly expensive is good. After we get a good idea of who wants to come, then we can find out if they are bringing someone or what. I guess for now we can get an Idea of what part of town we want to stay in, depending on the activities.

 

i was actually thinking of staying in the city with everyone else...i live in the suburbs, about 40 minutes from Downtown Chicago so i probably wouldn't want to drive that distance while completely FUBAR'd, 'naw wa' ah mean, Verne?

And I think that Boosted7 is pessimistic because of the difference in demographics between the 7 owners and the 8 owners. We seem to travel more imho. I will be going now just to prove Boosted wrong! :D

 

lets go with the marrriott, i wanna make gold level membership so that i can get free room upgrades when i travel for work (currently at silver)

edit: no matter what lets keep it classy (Renaissance for marriott) shoot for 4star places or affordable 5s
