Anyone coming to this today? Red? Being a newbie, what exactly happens at a JGTCA meet/cruise?

I went to one earlier this summer and it was fun. Get together between 4:30 and 6:30 (BS about cars and meet everyone). Some people go into the grocery store and get sushi and food and stuff. Then around 6:30 whoever wants to, goes on a "spirited" cruise. If you have one of those radios, bring it (reminder to self....look for the radios!). I think they are going to Chicago Indoor Racing afterward, but I'm not sure. I've never been there, but have been curious

It's just a chance to meet, check out cars, talk, and go for a fun drive. YOUSHOULDGO! :D


edit: besides, I've only seen one Shinka when I was at the dealer...I'd like to see one in action!

Hey Red, the link isn't working for me. I've tried registering with JGTCA, but the validation isn't working. Can you post meet info here please?

 

It is listed as a "Open Meet". I don't see a problem with posting the info. We'll have to ask this Afternoon.

 

Got your PM and got the validation working on the JGTCA site simultaneously. I'm all set and should be there for the "meet" part.

I'll be at the 12th becuase I'll be downtown that week, but won't be able to do 2 in one week. Don't reschedule on my account, but I'd be more likely to hit Fuds if it were a different week.

 

I think we should probably keep it as is...even if it is two meets in one week. I've heard from numerous people that they can make one or the other and I'd hate to see someone not be able to.

Unless there's a big consensus not to meet, I say keep it as is IMHO. But then again .... I'm an idiot! D:D

BTW, we didn't get to kart at CIR tonight (time issues) but it looks like a ton of fun! I hear they do it pretty regularly after the JGTCA meets...

 

Just noticed that both Machan and yandrs referred to the meet on the 12th... I have it listed as being on the 13th, am I mistaken?

First off thanks to all the RX-8 folks who came out today It was a blast seeing you guys and gals out with t3h awesome cars... next time come out to CIR afterwards too! It is a bit pricey but we can work on getting a group rate if we can get folks to commit prior!

I was there, I just didn't go on the cruise. I would rather spend my funds on mods & track time than on the karts. I should go inside CIR one of these days.

 

Zoom Zoom Live is coming to Arlington Park on October 29-30th. I've heard it's a lot of fun to zoom around in MNAO's cars :D

I registered for the 29th already. I want to zoom in a Miata ... tho may see if I can register for both a Miata and an 8. Driving the 8 gets you an instructor in the passenger seat ...

I'm signed up on 10/29 @ 12pm and will be there with a bunch of my autocross/track friends from Euroteknik. It should be a blast.

 

Lots of different cars...and a really nice bunch of people! Glad to have met all you fellow 8s last nite!! For those of you who didn't cruise, you missed BlueRen later on ... he drove all the way down from Milwaukee!

Yes, he was showing how to keep everyone together and how to "maneuver" other traffic out of the way

It was a riot! I need to find an RX-8 hot wheels to donate to the group for "demonstrative purposes" :D

 

I've checked the Hot Wheels web site, they don't have one.....yet. I have a Hot Wheels type car made Jada Toys. It's approx. 1/48 scale. The car is all riced out with wings, reverse lettering, etc.

It was a bit of a shock to see 2 MKIV's at the same spot at the same time. I dont think I've evar seen 1 before...

 

Just imagine what you wouldve seen at the meet! :D
