C'mon there have to be more people around the Chicago area. I see you drivin around all the time!!! :D
And this thread is not limited only to people in Chicago, but to anyone who is interested in meeting up near the Chicagoland area (we've already got some Wisconsin-ites)

The Short story:
My wife and I went over it with a fine tooth comb and came up with some "cosmetic" items for them to correct. Stop here or continue to.......
The Long Story:
When I was taking delivery, the salesman comes up and says "I need to show you this". There was a paint chip above the passenger rear wheel; about the size of your pinky fingernail. I test drove the car and it wasn't there that morning.
They said is was a "paint flaw or bubble". I'm convinced soemone "knocked" it by acident while they were prepping it (a car door, a tool, something). So they now need to repaint it.
Looking over the car in GREAT detail I come up with:
1) blue shipping tape/glue still on the doors
2) a "bubble" on the passenger b pillar (think air bubble under wallpaper that won't go away.
3) Some general exterior cleaning/buffing on the hood in the grooves for the rotary indent
4) a few small "scratches" on the driver's seat. The vertical, door facing side. No biggie excpet you can see as soon as you open the door.
For $30k+ I expect the thing off the lot to be right.
The cleaning was quick, but they had to paint it twice because they didn't like it the first time (whole rear quarter panel). They had to order a replacement for the b pillar which was installed yesterday. Finally, they have to get Mazda NA to look at the seat for warrenty; they may replace the whole seat. Due to vacations and scheduling, they aren't looking at it until Monday.
I left my car with them while I was on vacation thinking "surely after 2 weeks they can get all this done". What was I thinking? I still have my Mazda buying survey and I toss that out occasionally. Looking like 4 weeks without the batmobile....

Liberty Auto City in Libertyville. It's a bit of a haul from Algonquin. However, the price was right (internet sales), I could test drive MY Shinka and it was an easy deal. It's not like the dealer is fighting me on stuff; we both agree it needs to be done right. I'd just like them to pick up the pace.
