How many 8's in the Detroit area??
#3
Hey Detroit! If you head to the MSCC Event you will see a ton... there was quite a few there last time... I see Rx8's as much as I see 350z... if you head up to Birmingham you will catch a ton of them around there... and by ton I mean like 30... lol... Lots of cool Rx8 owners also... One of my close friends owns one... and I've talked to many of them on the streets! Lots of them are interested with cruising around... so if your trying to set up a shin-dig... it would be easy to get a lot of them together...

Boba - Maybe I will have to go to one of those sometime soon.. Never make it up to Birmingham too often (when you live downtown and can walk to most anything and drink as much as you want!)
Bry - Congrats! Where from and what dealership?

Congratz on the sweet car Bry!
and Detroit there is the meet coming up if you just check the MSCC event posting thats on this MW forum section... Will be a sweet meet! It was awesome last time! lots of rx8's...
The D-town Rx8's should get together and do the Woodward Cruise... would be sweet to see them all in a row!

I have seen about 6-7 RX-8s on the roads around here, another 4-5 parked at Ford buildings in Dearborn, and about a dozen or so down in Flat Rock where the Mazda/Ford plant (AAI) is located.
Detroit RX8, what mods have you done to your car? Let us know if your car gets accepted for the Ford Employee car show.

I have a Nordic Green in the Rochester Area. I'm a proud owner since last November. I have 12,000 thousand miles on it and have enjoyed every one of em. I can also vouche for Boba up there, he is a cool guy even though he drives a crossfire! j/k man...

Nice ... Thanks Jim Watch those Xfire comments !! I love the Rx8... but I love my Crossfire also !!!
I'd love to team up with everyone in Michigan w/ the 8's and go cruising sometime down woodward or some other meet up place!

That's a great idea...I often see Hummers or Vipers grouped together, why not 8's? That sounds cool...I see a blue one up and down Orchard Lake once in a while, but no Titanium's like mine...that's a good thing...

its very common to see Rx's clump up! ... I mean even the miata's have their get2gethers... I know its almost impossible to get the Xfire's of Michigan to do it... but that is because most of them are DC workers and dont care about their vehicle... (side note) Sorta strange since we are still one of the rarest over all in its Class... but in Michigan they are become much less common....
but you all should definately set up a meeting for the 8's! even allow the rx7's to jump in! would be great to see a cruise on woodward or something

Whew, almost got nailed by a cop...was goin 65 in rainy weather on Drake and didn't notice him lurking across the way. i saw him moving, ready to go, think i got saved only because there was oncoming traffic blocking him, nonetheless i pulled into a sub and chilled out for a few minutes. I can't not go fast! anyone else run into this problem?

65... man your holding back... my car has broke 75x2 a couple times on I - 75 ... I think you should always DOUBLE the number of the road number haha...
But anyways! You lucked out! and good luck with the speeding !! Michigan has some rough cops!

Also, Redline Motorsport has challeneged everybody in the "scene" to come out to their meet this Friday at 11 and Inkster. There is usually a good mix of cars out there and if the weather holds.. Probably 200+ cars will show up.. I'll be out there so drop me a line if anyone would like to come out.

I used to be the president of Redline for a while before I had some personal conflicts (job and relationship at the time) so I know everyone from Redline pretty well. Some of thier cars are very nice, others are also very good but need a bit more work (not like I can talk yet!)..
Hope to see some more 8's.. last time I was the only one

Bry - I will be there.. PM if you need a phone number or anything
Johnny - You definately have been looking in the wrong places!!! Redline is mostly a car show club, they hit up most of the major shows in the area with quite a representation.
