HAHAHA! That's awesome. Truthfully I don't have to hit it too hard to make a lot of noise. I usually have to take it slow over 151st because the road is so washboarded there. I get out of work at 9 so I'm usually passing around 10 after. I will remember to hit it hard from 7/11 to 156th. The car has been acting a little strange lately in the high RPMs so I'll have to get it into Rob Sight/Oliver and get her worked on. I think I have some bad plugs or wires not sure. Just seems to lose power in the high revvs.

I'm dropping my car off there tonight to have the second transmission fluid flush done and I may see if I can have that TSB performed as well while my powertrain is still under warranty.
Just an FYI, I had the reflash done today. They had no problem with doing it! Oliver's service dept. FTW!

I might get it done too. My TPMS is flashing after 10-20 minutes of driving for some reason. Checked and rechecked the air pressure on all 4 tires, before and after driving, and nothing there seems wrong. Might as well get the latest flash done as well.

Like I said in your thread, it's not getting a reading from one of the sensors on the wheel. One of them probably needs replaced.

Also, as of today my RX-8 is lowered on Tein S-Tech springs. It was a complete pain in the *** to do it but it's done. I'm hoping it lowers a little bit more but if it doesn't I won't be too let down. The stance looks like how the car should have came from the factory. It doesn't looked slammed which I like because I shouldn't have much of an issue getting over speedbumps and whatnot.

Thanks for the clarification. I think we all just kinda read it and stopped for a sec, read it again, then decided it was best to move on, haha.

I had no idea what you were talking about so I just skipped it. lol

Anyone around here adjusted their headlight alignment? If so how? I tried it today and didn't do anything except **** myself off. Mine are pretty much aimed at the ground I think because I don't see anything at night!

Rwatters, did you preload the springs before tightening the control arm bolts? How is your camber? Mine was -3 before the alignment, but the stock setup only allows for 1 degree of camber adjustment so I couldn't get any better than -1. You might need to find some aftermarket camber kits.

We tightened the control arm bolts up in the air but left the top of the strut assembly (the 3 bolts that hold it to the car as well as the big bolt that mounts the strut together) completely loose. We tightened them once the car got on the ground and it seemed to work as my drop looks identical to every other RX-8 equipped with Tein's. I really wish my back would drop a little more, though, because if anything it looks like that needs a preload option more than my front. lol

Then I look like I have a dead body in the trunk.

It's an S-Tech trait. The front always lowers more than the back, but I'd rather have that then the other way around.

I don't know about preloading the front springs, I did it without taking the upper control arm off. After preloading the rears it seemed to drop a lot more.

To preload the rear you want to raise the rear of the car up. Then loosen the lower control arm bolts, the long bar that bolts next to the differential it's the 17mm bolt and the hole is oblong I believe. Then lower the car and with the car on the ground tighten the bolts, they will move closer to the diff.

Bump action.

Let's start getting started on a meet. Big, small, who cares! I'd just like to meet up with some damn RX-8 owners for a change.

Hey all, im a new 8 owner. Just picked up an 05 Velocity Red Gt w/ Nav. Only options it doesnt have is wheel locks and the rear spoiler. I need to get it taken in for the TSB flash, is Northtowne Mazda decent on the service side of things? Its the closest dealer to me, as i live in liberty.

(Definitely interested in a meet!)

Welcome to the club. I dunno about that Mazda dealer at all. Only thing I can say is you will discover everyone here LOVES Steve Oliver Mazda (formerly Bob Sight/Rob Sight).

Took my 8 into Northetowne Mazda, to have the diff fluid changed and the emissions TSB done. Really good service, plus its closer to me since i live in Liberty. Just figured id give an update.
