The gasket for my MOP (metering oil pump) is bad and is leaking oil. Steve Oliver doesn't think they should have to cover it (even though oil lubrication and seals/gaskets are covered under the powertrain warranty) and Mazda NA is taking their sweet time to figure it out and NOT call me back. In the mean time I just drive around leaking oil which I don't feel very safe in doing considering how sensitive these motors are.

Well, I figured I'd give you guys first dibs on the following stuff. I'm taking my car back to stock and probably trading it in. The oil leak really isn't the biggest reason why, my own wallet is. Time to put bills as the priority over a car I fear.
Borla cat-back - $600 (used less than 2000 miles)
Mazdaspeed shift **** - $75 (whopping month old)
All-season floor mats - $45 (also only a month old)
AFE dry-flow air filter - $35 (2 weeks old)
JDM clear corners - $45 (7 months old, perfect shape)
You want it, it's yours. It's all still on the car at this point but I'll probably have it removed this weekend.

Olathe represent! Been absentee from the forums for a while, but now I'm back in the swing of things. Anyone want to join me at an autocross? Surely someone (or anyone, really) can drive these things better than me.

My autocross knowledge is limited.. but isn't that off road? if not, I'd really be interested.
If anyone is interested, I've got a moonroof wind deflector sitting around that came with the car (bought it used). If anyone wants to come pick it up, its theirs (free of charge). Further, I just put in the RP short shifter yesterday.... pure sex! Perhaps the best mod for the 8, and a very easy DIY.

I bought my car there, but I will never go back for service. They worked on my power steering for the 3rd time and ended up laying a wrench or something across my fender and closing the hood on it. It trashed the hood and fender and they had the ***** to accuse me of damaging the car. I'm out on Northtowne. Steve Oliver/ formerly Rob Sight in Martin City is TOP NOTCH. Ask for Eric. Those guys can fix a car right the first time. They also won't **** you around.

Time to revive this old thread. Nice meeting ya SHOWOFF, sort of, more like a passing by I guess. So I saw you were holding back the ol' 8 for the day huh? haha.
I too will soon have the Borla but you still got a few more mods than me. One day, somehow, I'll catch up haha.

I drove mine for the first time in a month on Sunday. To Target and back into the garage. I think I have some sort of oil leak. It's been there since I got the engine swapped last year. Pisses me off. I'm getting my hood and bumper repainted next week. Maybe I'll drop it off at Steve Oliver first for the oil leak.
We all need to hook up. The weather is killer right now. I'd be down for Thursday or Friday night at Twisters on 135th.
I surprised you today GameGuy in my company car. I just knew it was you when I saw your hood. I am a sales manager at a car dealership so I drive something different home all the time. Last week was a Jeep Commander (had to tow my Jet Ski) , the week before I was in a Charger R/T Hemi, this week I'm sporting the 300 Touring. I bought some more Commanders at the Auction today. Also picked up an Inferno Red Magnum SRT-8, and a Black Crystal Pearl 300 SRT-8. I wanted something fast. Too bad I already have the 300 sold. If you see a bright red Magnum SRT-8 blowing down Mur-Len with a dealer tag in it... that's me.

Haha yeah I saw the tags on that baby so I figured you had something to do with that. I'm guessing you saw me way before you waved. If you didnt notice, I was too busy lookin in the rearview mirror at a couple girls that I was meeting up with, haha. I guess even when your gonna hang out with em you still gotta look. I'm guilty... bleh.
Anyway, yeah we all need to meet up sometime for sure. Only reason I dont think this weekend works is half the KC area hasnt checked this thread in forever, haha. Unfortunately, unlike Mr Showoff, you'll only see me in the RX-8, which on second thought, there is nothing unfortunate about that, haha.

I'll take the MS Shift **** if it's a real one.

I have air tools and jackstands. That's really all you need. It took me about 20 min to install on my car, and once I did that one I did my buddy's car in 10, both on the same night. You'll need to look at getting some exhaust hangers to adjus the exhaust, but since you have a stock rear bumper it may not be that big a deal. There's only 2 bolts holding it onto the cat, one bolt holding the grounding strap on and I think 2 more on the back end of the exhaust. Easy as hell.
I am available on Fridays.

The RX-8 is officially gone as of today. Everything off of the car is already sold (assuming 8lack GT still wants the clear corners).
GameGuy369, Revline Auto should be able to do it. Chuong (the owner) is a friend of mine and an AWESOME guy. He will not screw you over and it will be a quality install job.

Their number is on that website. Tell Chuong Ryan Watters sent you! Unfortunately they're located up by Bartle Hall so if that is too much of a drive for you then it's definitely understandable.
