Louisville Bw3 Get Together
Hi everyone, a few of us, Mad Pole, FastBreak8 and I are getting together at BW3 in the Springhurst Shopping Mall on January 14th at 1 PM. After a little cheer and some good wings we were going to take a roadtrip down Highway 42.
All are welcome. This is the first meeting that I know of in the area. It would be good to see more interested.
All though it is a 70 mile trip, if any Lexington folks are interested please show up. Maybe we can start "you come to our city then we go to yours" in the future.
Take care and hope to see you there.

We can start our cruise on US 42 in Prospect and go down US 42 until we hit westport, go into westport and stop at the Docks, or the Westport General Store and turn around. It takes about 30 mins to get to westport from Springhurst. So the cruise will be about an hour long. After we get past Prospect/Goshen, its all horse farms from there. So its a nice ride.. Depending upon the weather.
We usually start getting snow around this time. So who knows whats going to happen. If anybody else has any ideas for a cruise, let me know.. Shelbyville Road and Taylorsville road are also nice .. Once you get out of the city. And there are a bunch of other nice areas out here in Oldham County (where I work).
I'v got some 2 way radios too, so I'll try to round those up...

I'v been experimenting with some routes... I'm going to go this weekend again.. But here is my new route, which excludes the ride through prospect.
Springhurst, to Highway 22. Take 22 into Crestwood, merge onto Highway 146 in Crestwood, drive into Buckner, take a left onto 393 and then a right onto US 42.. Which will put us on 42 past Prospect.. Its a much better drive.
If anybody wants to cruise around and check out some possible cruising routes, just let me know.. I'm usually free on the weekends!
I'd like to do a cruise on US 42 all the way into Cincinnati sometime during the summer. I did it once before like 10 years ago.. Took about 4-5 hours but from what I remember it was beautiful drive.. Most of it is along the Ohio River.
We could do that and then meet for Lunch with the Cincinnati Crew and drive back.. It would be an all day event tho

I wouldn't argue with just football, beer and wings at BW3's and a chance to meet the other 8 owners in the area.

Hey I also spotted some 8's the other day.. It was wierd, I was driving down the Snyder towards National Turn Pike and from Highway 22 exit until the Turnpike Exit, I saw 3 8's. Usually I don't see any at all.. So that was pretty wierd!!! I also saw another VR 8 here in J-Town on Galene that same day....

I am still game for the get together at BW3. I havent heard of snow but heavy rain. If we do the cruising cool or we can wait till better weather whatever everyone is up to is fine with me.
BTW, FastBreak8, as I posted before, I will pass the hat for your ticket through Prospect as the chaser for the rest of us but someone else has to do it for the tow out of a snow bank.

I live in the eastern part of the state near Ashland. I would be interested in coming to Louisville sometime to meet and cruise with you guys. Would not be able to come this weekend, but will keep watching this thread for future meetings. What and where is the meeting place you are talking about?

We will try again in the spring when its warmer/not raining out.. Also I suggest we post what were going to wear.. Or what hat or something.. I got there a little bit late.. Saw an 8 in the parking lot with UofL plates.. So I knew Mad Pole was in there.. but had no clue what he looked like.. I went from table to table asking if anybody owned an RX8.. I guess he was in the bathroom and I missed him.. lol.. So I felt dumb and went and waited out in my car...
Hope you feel better!!

I have a sure fire way to get the restaurant to find out the owner of a particular vehicle. Just go to the hostess and say, " I just crashed my Yugo into an RX8 out in the parking lot and need to find the owner." They will for sure announce asking for the owner. LOL
Sorry only you two were there. Believe me with this cold you wouldnt have wanted me there to pass it along. Glad the beer was cold though. Yes when it gets warmer we can try again.
