Did you buy the center piece painted piano black or did you have custom work done?

 

The center piece was SiLVeRE8's. Got it during his part-out. I'm going to refinish it in matte black one of these days though.

I just bought my RX8, its a 2005. I actually haven't gotten the chance to look at it yet(i'm deployed to iraq)
I'm out of Rudyard, MI(yeah the U.P.)
What kind of snow tires would you guys recommend and is the 5w-20 the only oil I can use for this car? I've never dealt with a rotary engine before.

Dream Cruise is this week in Michigan….if you are around and want to have a little RX-8 Cruise let me know…I’m thinking Friday night starting in Ferndale…or we could start on the opposite end in Pontiac.

If you live in the Midwest and you are not too far, this is something you should check out.

The event draws over 1.5 million people and over 40,000 classic cars plus tons of imports.

If you want to start the cruise you can meet up in pontiac at the lot we have. We have been hosting rotary gathering there for over 5 years. We look forward to seeing anyone who loves rotary engines. We have rx-8s rx-7s and other rotary powered vehicles that show up.

I live right off Woodward by auto Europe ... And I can allready here the cars this morning !

 

the lot is in pontiac corner of layfette and the woodward loop as it heads south. We are already at the lot with my rx7. You will have to circle the block to get into the entrance of the lot. If we see you we will wave you down too. Bring all rotaries!!!!

 

Ugh, count me out - I just left the house to go up there, stopped at the car wash, and my rx8 left me stranded and won't start now...so pissed right now..if I get it going i'll head up that way..no idea what's going on right now... Car cranks, won't start...it's not flooded I don't think, as I was driving along and it was just cutting out as the rpms went up...then i was sitting there idling for a minute trying to figure out what to do, and it stopped...done.

 

Is the tank of gas low? Try putting some fresh cold gas in and see if that helps. If it does, it's the fuel pump.

 

Real quick - I just posted on the troubleshooting forum but that simple yet effective concept of motoring actually made a difference! But why it would with 1/4 tank of gas, i have no idea...is there a known issue with this fuel pump (mine's an 04) where a failure can happen where it won't pump without being more than around 4 gallons/quarter full of gas?
