Most cars don't require every 3k miles, GM is like 6k, ford is 4500 as is chrysler. As for my RX-8 I try to stick close to the 3 month mark b/c I have had the car for a year now and only have 6k on the car, but I have already had 3 oil changes. I personally would stay around 3k, though, just b/c our engines are so finicky. That's just me, though.

my hyundai manual says every 3750. sounds like a weird number i know but it works out to 1 less oil change every 30,000 miles. which is still kind of weird. I used to do it anywhere from 3500 to 4000. When I switched to synthetic I go around 7-8000 and change the filter around the 3500-4000 mark and top up. The oil says its good for up to a year or 15,000 miles and I havent seen any ill effects.
Its kind of a personal preference thing and shouldn't hurt the motor as long as you do it in regular intervals and don't let it go too long between changes.

What is the best way for me to check if I have enough pad left on my current breaks for saturday? Don't really want to change them if I don't need to. I am bringing an extra set to the track just in case, along wityh some engin oil and the Motul.

I would change the route a little to get to the track. Follow Rt 23 to Rt 67. Turn Left (North) and it will be about 3 mi. to the track. You will be near the track when you cross County J. You will go up a hill and then when going down, the road bends to the left. At the end of that bend, you will be at the track. You will enter at the second or third entrance you come to. Elkhart Lake is another 2 mi to the north.
I have been going to the track since 1977 and I know my way around their quite well. County J around Crystal Lake is a fun (twisty) drive at sun up. Never camp at Sheboygan Marsh County Park. The mosquitos will carry you away.
