But i know the schools you are talking about and that would be pretty amazing to go to also, but i have to agree. I havent spent 3k on anything before or since the actual purchase of my car other than tuition.
keep me posted on the Gingerman one, for a few hundred I will go.

First, you have to have a legal race car (what is race car spelled backwards?), get a physical and get your novice permit. Then you need to attend 2 SCCA drivers schools and regional races. If you don't screwup, you will get signed off to obtain a regional license. One of the SCCA drivers schools can be waved if you have attended a professional drivers school. Or have previous racing experience. After completing 2 regional races, you can apply for a national license. Regional races are a more low key, local event. There are classes for cars which are only allowed to race in Regional events. I ran my RX7 in such a class (Improved Touring, ITS). National events you race for Division points. At the end of the season the points leaders for each race class, from all the national divisions, are invited to the SCCA National Runoffs. These have been held at Road Atlanta (I attended in 79, 80 & 81) and Mid-Ohio. They are now being held in Topeka, Kansas at Heartland Park (this is owned by the same man that owns Blackhawk Farms Raceway).

I loved that movie. I got a VHS tape of it before I could afford a VCR. The tapes cost $80 at that time. I still have that tape.

Thread started by Blue about insurance.
https://www.rx8club.com/se-rx-8-forum-30/track-insurance-101252/

What you don't see is the RX8 that was wrecked. It wasn't quite as bad, but it didn't end up in much better shape.
