MidWest Meetup

MidWest Meetup
Greetings, fellow rotorheads!
I am a proud owner of a lightning yellow 2004 GT, and would love to meet more of my fellow renesis owners. To that end, I am starting work on planning a meetup for all RX-8 and RX-7 owners! I am still working on the details, and I need your help.
First off, we need a location. My personal preference is for Madison, WI, seeing as I live here. Also, it is conviently between the Twin Cities and Chicago, as well as a manageable distance from Iowa and points in IN. But, if you have a better suggestion, I am open to it.
Secondly, a date. I'd like to do this in 2009, while we can still have fun with our cars, so that means October. A great time in the midwest with the changing leaves. Current best bet is October 24th, a week before Halloween.
And lastly, and probably more importantly, we need somewhere to drive. Any suggestions on places to go and great roads to get there would be most welcome. The Sparta trail is good, as is most of SW Wisconsin. And there are numerous state parks to visit as well as exciting attractions. So please, let the ideas flow.
Right now, this is early planning, but I hope to get a good guage of interest and get some ideas. I'll try to work with local groups and Mazda to maybe get some corporate support, maybe even some prizes!
Please post if you're interested, and if you have any suggestions!

As someone from the mid north Iowa area I'd say a central area may get more of us there. I know that the roads along the Mississippi are very nice. Either side of it seemed to flatten out and get a bit boring after a bit. Though I know SW Wis does get some nice rolling curvey roads as well. I'll keep an eye on this idea and if it's at a time and place I can do I'll be there.
