lol... i may be in minneapolis again (god that drive is getting old) on june 1-4... the 4th being a saturday. What time does C&C run?

Thompsolonian 05-06-2011 03:14 PM

Hey all, So, I am thinking another event this summer since the one Last weekend had a GREAT turnout.

I'll have a route in mind for us to drive after we meet for a burger somewhere (we can do fuddruckers again, or try somewhere else)

What day of the week works best for all? I like Sunday myself.

Pm me with what day of the week and I'll go from there, also any suggestions for a drive would be awesome.

Just finished cleaning the car. It's a bitch to wax when it's dark out. I may try to get there early enough to park inside, depends on how much of a cluster it looks when I get there.

Wolfhame 05-07-2011 10:15 PM

I was at C&C today and only saw 2 8s. 3 if you count the gray one i spotted in the parking lot. ill probably be going again in july maybe. hopefully there will be a few more of us out there instead of all the srts....

HonestlyLying 05-07-2011 11:26 PM

I have to say I was sad only 2 8s showed up. One was pretty sweet! It was a pretty good turnout otherwise though!

Kaiser bun 05-08-2011 03:03 AM

My question still stands... what time does C&C run? If its relatively early i may be able to show up in June.

8am - 11am

HonestlyLying 05-08-2011 10:08 AM

Yes 8-11 but it fills up quick and I would get there earlier because it turns into a cluster by 8 and parking is limited.

Yeah, i was one of the 8's that was at C&C. We got there at 7:30 and it was starting to get busy. By 8 it would have been a pain to park.

Kaiser bun 05-08-2011 12:17 PM

Well the earlier the better for me... I would be driving home on that Saturday (roughly 8 hours) so i may show up for that before i hit the road.

Hello everyone in MN. :cheers
Just had a question on anyone's experience with dealers. Had a compression test done at Polar Mazda and the numbers were at the minimum compression. From searching on this forum, my conclusion is that the engine will probably have to be replaced. Polar recommended that the coils and plugs be replaced. So, I'm waiting on the BHR system right now. Though the system might increase the compression, the engine still has that low compression which might mean the seals are going.

But, just wondering any recommendations of dears to work with? Polar wasn't that bad, but I think I might get some crap for the BHR system with I request for warranty work for the engine. Any thoughts?

Pstone 05-08-2011 10:16 PM

A new ignition won't increase your compression at all. Also, don't bring your car into the dealer with the BHR ignition. You never know if the dealer will refuse to cover it under warranty because of that.

Thanks, that's what I thought. So any dealer recommendations?

The mazda dealership off of 394 and 494 does good work. I have a friend right now that is getting his engine replaced at the mazda dealership in burnsville too.

Model year and miles on your car? Other history (how it was driven, maintained)?

AlwaysSomething 05-08-2011 10:30 PM

Sorry, 2004 MT 83k miles. History as a day driver, never seen winter. All warranty work has been done except for the clutch pedal (thing is still good and checked every time brought in for service).

Mine was the silver one in the parking lot... We didn't organize something, so we decided not participate...

Also my uncle ended up showing up in his yellow Murcielago.. Was by that all day1

Wolfhame 05-09-2011 12:09 PM

We should organize something for the July or August c&c maybe. I'd love to see all of the other local 8s.

HonestlyLying 05-09-2011 02:00 PM

I was hanging around that area too especially when the superleggera showed up.

Speedrx8er 05-09-2011 10:38 PM

If you have a lot of cars going to the C&C you will need to get there around 7 so you can all park together.. I was there last weekend with the G35 and 350Z and I had to get up at 5 am then meet up with some cars at Ikea before 6 am. Even at 7 it was getting filled up pretty fast. You may want to call the organizer and let them know you are attending and how many cars..

Speedrx8er 05-10-2011 09:43 PM

Yes the cold is gone now I can pick up the pace on my TRI-ME project..
if all goes well I hope to get the mock up done before frost hits. Then rebuild engine during winter and save up for the haltech. I will be unveiling it during one of the spring meet next year.
