Question for you all. Can I get a suggestion for a rotary shop in MN/ND/SD? I live in Fargo right now and the only place i've been able to find that works on rotaries is TurboBlown just outside of Minneapolis. I would rather not have to take a 3 hour drive so the closer the better.
What do you have for suggestions? Turblown Elliot is a good guy. Shawn is a good guy (just needs to shave that beard off ). Another buddy of mine builds the engines for Turblown. We are building my 20B for the FD and my Renesis when my rotors get back from Chip Motorsports (edm cut and race balanced). :shocking: Oh...and I am from Shakopee |
I'm in Ohio now

Hello there, newby here from Cottage Grove, MN. We bought a 2005 RX8 and while the car runs ok, it feels it could use a good tune up. Before buying this car, we were told the previous owner blew the engine and new one had just been installed. It ran great at first for the first couple of months, now it's been dragging, not nearly as much power as before and even shuts off while standing on a red light.
I see many different recommended places for service of this type of car mentioned in this forum, just wondering if there was a consensus on a proven place in the Twin Cities to take this car to. Thanks a lot for any responses in advance. We seem to be the only green Rx8 in the area... Regards, Edgar |

Up north of Brainerd just acquired a 2010 RX8 Sport with 46k from down south, wondering what to do to prep it for a cold MN winter storage?

Close enough... To rent?
Greetings fellow northlanders. Im just next door to the west in North Dakota. Whilst i currently do not own an rx8 it is on my short list soon.
That said, I know this is random but are any of you on Turo for me to rent your rx8 for a day? I live in Fargo but want to see and feel the experience prior to buying to see how my commute would be, and want to take it around itastca route to really appreciate its handling and take in the fall colors. 6sp gt model is on my list for creature comforts and sunroof. Im new, but real. I prefer turo as then everyone is covered, but if you are interested in coming along im cool with that too. Im a car aficionado, and was tempted to head to mn cars and coffee this weekend but the Bison are playing in town and my son wants to go to that instead. Anyway, enjoy and just dm me or reply if this might be an option. Thank you! |
I posted some RX-8 collectibles up in the FS section. If anyone local is interested in something in the list we can work on pricing if we meet local.

Anyone still alive out there with their 8?
Would be fun to organize a meet up and cruise of some sort.. Starting to get to driveable temps here in MN.. |
Now in New England - anytime there isn't ice or sand on the roads is a great time to take a ride. RX8 loves cooler temperatures!

newish 05 RX-8
Hello,
I'm in Oakdale, MN. Just picked up an 05 RX-8 cheap at a car auction. 84K on the odo. Engine seems good. Want to get a compression test but can't find anyone in the metro to do one?? The car gets really happy at 7k on the revs....so I think it's fine but want to confirm before doing some minor upgrades for tracking the car at Brainerd next summer. Thanks! Scott |
Morrie's Mazda should be able to do a compression test.
