Ugh, I flooded my car..

I knew better.. but yet I was in a hurry and moved the car from my driveway into the garage and shut it down... now two days later it won't start! UGH.

Anyone ever deflooded their own car? Right now I'm looking at attempting the oil based deflood procedure from the TSB.... and if that doesn't work having it towed to the dealer.. UGH. (Whats worse is I knew better then to move and turn it off.. but I did it anyway..)

Speedrx8er 10-19-2005 09:37 PM

Fray, that to bad .. :( I think the manual has the deflood howto.

Speedrx8er 10-19-2005 09:41 PM

on the lighter side.. I got my p-zero nero M+S put on today :) .. I feels great :D

fray 10-19-2005 10:17 PM

Speed.. I already tried the WOT to clear the flood, but it still won't fire. I suspect there is a loss of compression due to the fuel cleaning out the engine.

In regards to the tires... Are the m+s the all season ones? I am looking at the Pirreli Pzero Neros in the spring.. Or Bridgestone 050's.. Still have a few months to decide....

Speedrx8er 10-19-2005 11:51 PM

Fray,
yes it is..

hmmm did you try to squirt some windshield fluid in?? I recall some guy took 30 min to deflood Jason's car.

I finished the Blinder X-treme install...have fun

Speed I considered the washer fluid trick.. but I've seen what washer fluid does to aluminum.. so I'm VERY hesitant to do that. (Almost instant corrosion)

Well whenever there is a dark clound, there is usually a siver lining...

Found out I have "Mazda Road Side Assistance" today! Woot!

Getting towed to the dealer for free.. hopefully the deflooding will be warranty work as well.. (and getting the final oil change of the season.. I think I'm going to park it next week) :(

I called roadside and happened to get a guy whose ex girlfriend had an RX7 after 30 minutes he started the thing

expect your stock battery to be shot or on its last days after deflooding it

good time to spring for an Yellow or Red top Optima size 34 :)

fray 10-20-2005 03:30 PM

I never let my battery run completely down.. when it started getting low, I immediatly hooked up the charger. I wasn't going to ruin the battery if I could help it. ;)

Well, cars at the dealers for a deflood + oil change.. We'll see what happens when they call.

Speedrx8er 10-20-2005 05:33 PM

cool... I think I need to change my oil again eheehhe.. say do I need a different weight of oil for winter???? if not then I might run to Mas auto to pick up some purple .. :D

Malamore 10-23-2005 05:53 PM

Next drive

Anyone thinking about an upcoming drive? Preferably before the winter tires go on. :)

truemagellen 10-23-2005 06:23 PM

yes we are...Sunday November 13

just haven't finalized the date yet, sound good?

BoosTED 10-24-2005 05:41 AM

I'll bet a nickel there will be snow by then. :wallbash:

Pretty sad, I already put my winters on.

Speedrx8er 10-24-2005 06:08 AM

Yup

truemagellen 10-24-2005 09:15 AM

so no go for meet? :Freak_ani

Malamore 10-24-2005 09:33 AM

Is there any date prior to that which will work for people - even something lowkey (like drive somewhere and grab dinner).

truemagellen 10-24-2005 09:39 AM

we could meet up at night...problem is this weekend we roll back the time an hour

it will get very very dark very very early :(

could meet this weekend I guess...that is cutting it tight though

Malamore 10-24-2005 09:55 AM

A night drive wouldn't be as much fun obviously. I'd be willing host another BBQ - at least we'd get a chance to hang out and talk about mods. Then we could go for a short run out to Stillwater and back? Would anyone be up for that this Sunday afternoon? Say 1pm BBQ 2:30 - 5:00 drive?

BoosTED 10-24-2005 10:23 AM

If we start a bit earlier like noon. I can make it for the BBQ. Have to work at 4PM Sunday.

fray 10-24-2005 10:32 AM

I'd love to join in, but I suspect it's getting too late in the year. I know my car is one battery charge/stabil pour away from storage right now.

BoosTED 10-24-2005 11:30 AM

Pretty sure you could drive another car to the meet just remember the password is 8.
