If he drives Audi's, he must not only like cars, but working on them as well. ;)

Malamore 11-11-2005 08:48 AM

Hehe. Yeah, one of my friends owns an A6. At first he loved it. But since buying it he's dropped about $3k in repairs. He's no longer a happy Audi owner.

BoosTED 11-11-2005 08:56 AM

I was aware of that when I posted. I can imagine the legacy guys would be better. I think Best Buy might instill some of this knowing everything bit so the techs seem to have a better image. Some just suck at it though, go over the top.

Not saying every Geek Squad tech is this way he just came to mind when Champa mentioned the black and white.

BoosTED 11-11-2005 08:57 AM

So I shouldn't get the TT for my wife?

Malamore 11-11-2005 09:00 AM

I wasn't offended - Geek Squad's culture was "we're the absolute best of the best". Not all the techs can actually back it up. :) It's actually a culture problem that we're still working on within our company. There's nothing more annoying than a tech who thinks they know everything.

Speedrx8er 11-11-2005 09:28 AM

OH boy look what I started hehehehe .. Sorry if I offended anyone..

Speedrx8er 11-11-2005 09:30 AM

Show of hands who is going this weekend.. :ylsuper:

alcimedes 11-11-2005 09:34 AM

Just research each audi model carefully. Some models seem to be fine, others have siginificant and constant mechanical problems. From my research and personal experience it seems to be very model specific though. The TT might be fine.

BoosTED 11-11-2005 09:39 AM

:shocking: I'll be there,

That is a nice looking car with decent features.

She is still eyeing the SC430 Lexus. I wish I could buy her one. Then she wouldn't even blink when I get parts for the car. :dunno:

BoosTED 11-11-2005 09:47 AM

Big thing wasn't performance stuff it was two rims since two of mine were rashed from a curb. Stock tires are crap in the cold.

truemagellen 11-11-2005 09:50 AM

I broke free around all the corners this morning it was awesome...then to have free parking because it is veterans day, :) :) :)

fray 11-11-2005 09:53 AM

I _WANT_ to be there, but I'm not sure I will be able to. I'm pretty sure that this weekend will be the last w/ my 8 and I before winter.. :( But I just can't bear the through of salt on my car.. [nor can I currently afford all season/snow tires if I didn't mind the salt]

Ohh well, I HOPE to be there, but at this point I'm not sure.

BoosTED 11-11-2005 09:56 AM

Did you disable the traction? :spank:

It is a nice feeling though when it is controlled. Especially if someone is in the car.

truemagellen 11-11-2005 09:56 AM

ok see you there Fray ;) besides we need your excellent photography work :) :)

no disabling of traction...it has a slight delay before kicking in, if you take the turn right you'll drift around the corner and never lose control as the traction control straightens you out in no time...kind of like training wheels :yelrotflm

Right I just happened to think my training wheels weren't needed around the one corner from the stop light. :(

Again I was lucky because it didn't snap my valve stems when I slid into the curb.

The lifetime alignment at Tires Plus came in handy though.

papajoey79 11-11-2005 11:33 AM

Not to be a buzzkill but I'm not going to come if there is a chance of snow...
I'm still on my stock tires so the trip home would be interesting....
If it is just raining I'll be there....
I don't drive the car in the winter so no sense in buying winter shoes
So far it looks like snow on Sunday :dunno:

Joey

fray 11-11-2005 11:36 AM

Well, if there is any consolation.. no snow in the forcast for HERE.. ;)

BoosTED 11-11-2005 11:42 AM

Yup not till Tuesday.

Then we get snow showers

Malamore 11-11-2005 01:25 PM

I'm in.

alcimedes 11-11-2005 06:14 PM

Just got this today from the site that lists non-oxy stations:

"Eric,

Sorry for the late response. To my knowledge it has not been updated. I am
new at the MSSA. However, we are looking at redoing a few things on the
website, and this category is one of them. Please stop by frequently.

Thanks,

Lance"

truemagellen 11-11-2005 08:31 PM

anyone want to help plan out the route :)

skmidwest 11-13-2005 11:08 AM

Just bought my (wife's) rx8. Just in time for snow (tires).
