just saying hello. i live in St. Paul and picked up a black 06 shinka from a guy in Minneapolis on April 1 - hopefully i'm not the fool. fun, impressive car (even stock) and i like knowing i will not see another 30 of them on the road every time i take it out.

used morrie's last week to take care of a couple outstanding recalls / TSBs and was satisfied; as long as i'm lacking the space to do it myself will probably go back for the 15k service whenever i get there and to check on the rear end "growl" during low speed turns after long highway driving.

this forum has been an awesome source of info so far as i'm learning the car. enjoy the driving weather!

WELCOME! gratz on geting the coolest most unique car on the road! if you have any questions feel free to ask. Lot more knowledge in these forums than anywhere else. :Eyecrazy:

Agreed.. it is always nice to fill up a place with some 8's.... but I will be without mine for 10 days!!! :(

I will be in Orlando though.... I guess that is an okay trade-off :)

runriderive 04-23-2009 06:59 AM

i'm in st. paul, but would never mind driving.

wish i could join, but this weekend i'm heading to madison for crazylegs and then to gb to haul my motorcycle back. no love for the 8 this weekend, which is too bad: some of the roads in south-western wisconsin near la crosse are FUN FUN FUN.

atleast the 8 is getting a thorough cleaning today - a buddy is giving me a clay-bar lesson since i've never done it. we'll see.

enjoy!

RX-8skater 04-24-2009 09:14 PM

mn rotary what school do you go to? mine is on saturday to

TonyVS12385 04-25-2009 01:25 PM

I remember prom... It was okay...

Last day in florida.. Unfortunately there are not too many 8s in Orlando. I've seen maybe two... There a crapload of s2000s and dodge chargers though..

runriderive 04-25-2009 03:49 PM

anyone in the twin cities area have experience with clear bra installers locally? i've found through the 3m website that kline nissan, maplewood toyota, mounds view saturn, and others will do it, but wouldn't mind getting a "yay or nay" about a particular installer before having it done.

always said i would never buy another black vehicle, the front of my truck looks like salt-n-pepper, but ended up getting a black 8 and now i want to save the nose. if anyone has an installer related opinion i'd like to hear the story.

thanks all!

I go to Underwood which is a small town east of Fergus Falls.

Shnifty 04-28-2009 07:12 PM

Haha, nice mn_rotary. Did a meet happen on Saturday?

Skater, I noticed you bought zex kit at the same time I bought mine. Mine is sitting in my living room as a conversation piece at the moment. If you want to get together to attempt an install that'd be cool. Let me know.

To everyone else, I think I'd be up for a meet this coming Saturday.

Dark Chrome Stocks

Does anyone in here want or know of anyone that wants Dark chrome stock wheels? I have a set that I am trying to get rid of locally, I will also throw something on the for sale page as well. But just want to see if I can draw interest from the local thread first. I am selling therm for 300 tires are pretty much gone but the rims are in great condition.

Shnifty 05-08-2009 09:45 PM

Hey, can any of you tell me how the local dealerships handle modded cars and warranties? I'd like to get my engine checked out. Have any of you had any trouble?

Sorry I have not been on the boards latley, I just picked up a BMW 535i and have been working on that a lot.

Side note, I just got some new front rotors for my rx8. I have the OEM ones lying around. If any of you want it, PM me. I'll let you pick it up for free.

Mn_Rotary954 05-22-2009 11:26 AM

So who is all planning to attend C&C in a couple of weeks? I may make the 3 1/2 hour trip down the night before and get a hotel room, check out the sights that the twin cities have to offer . Just wondering if there is generally a nice turnout of 8's or if it would be more beneficial to wait for just an 8 meet so I can show off my stock 8 :tear:

MadeULook 05-22-2009 06:02 PM

Lol! This year, C&C has just been a two-man show. 2 shots from the 2nd.

xdj_jdx 05-23-2009 11:19 AM

as you can see from madeulook's pics. if you go to C&C you need to get there early around 8 or you will have no where to park your ride.
