Mo/Kan all-out Mazda meet ##UPDATE##
***UPDATE***
Bad news all.
Due to a lack of people saying they will attend, and cancellations from those saying they will attend, the event has been cancelled and will be re-planned for next spring when hopefully we can get more out for it.
It's unfortunate, but to make it worth everyone's time I think it's better that this be done.
It's late notice, but I've received more and more cancellations and it's just not worth it to continue on.
The cancellations weren't just from this forum (to make it perfectly clear). The attendance was already relatively low so when others started saying they couldn't make it it just made the decision all that much more necessary. To hopefully get a sponsorship out of Rob Sight for future events like this we would really need the first one to be big and go out with a bang and that's just not going to happen with it held in the fall. Sorry everyone.

Hello all, I'm new to the forums but a fan of Mazda's for quite some time. I suppose you could say it's in the family blood since in our driveway resides a Mazdaspeed 6, Mazda 6, and my Mazda RX-8 on the weekends! Anyways, since purchasing my RX-8 I've really wanted to plan a Mazda meet of some sort to get everyone together, and now we've got something worked out:
When: Saturday, October 13th
Time: 1pm
Where: Rob Sight Mazda! 13901 Washington St. Kansas City, MO 64145
That's right, the folks at Rob Sight Mazda have given us a whole area of their lot that Saturday to park the cars, show them off, and have some fun. They will be providing food, and the service area will be open so that we can take a look. They're offering tours of the facility, etc., and without any catches at all.
It's a month away so hopefully that gives everyone enough of a chance to plan. Given scheduling with them as well as the upcoming cold weather, it's a little on the short notice side but you have to work with what you can get so I'd love to see as many Mazda's as we can get! The service director and general manager of the dealership are 100% behind this, so a big thanks to them for opening up their facility as well.
Now, shout it to the world and let's have ourselves and awesome time at a great dealership! If you plan on attending, please reply in here or shoot me a PM as I will be trying to get together a head count to make sure enough food is supplied.

i wish i could make it. it sounds like a really good time, but i have a prior
commitment at noon that day. if anyone is going to be around at about 10, i could stop by. i am doing the pubcrawl for cancer at noon on the 13th.
if anyone else is interested, the buffalo run is that day too. they will line up
all of the cars on the plaza before they leave for the rally. tons of beautiful cars
will be there. ferrari club, porche club, supras, and possibly an slr or two. the
show starts at 8 am on the plaza. wish i were driving in it. maybe next year.

Bump. We are going to run this one more week across all Mazda forums. Pending the amount of interest and confirmations (latter is better) we get we may just have to cancel as we do not want to waist Rob Sights time and money since they will be footing the bill. So if there are any Mazda folks on the lurk please post up!

you might try sending PMs notifying people that might not be on the boards much, but check their email often. Also, try getting a hold of smog2k for the 3's and 6's. He was able to round some up last time. I have to work all weekend, but if no one has taken the initiative to do so, I might on monday. Let me know if anyone does.

Right now Rob Sight and I are discussing whether the meet should go ahead as planned or to possibly wait until next spring to do another one. Reason this is because the amount of people showing interest to attend is very small. The meet was planned on the only weekend really feasible at the dealership and clashes with a lot of things.
Right now it's a waiting game. Should there be enough of a turnout it'll be set in stone and we'll get everything planned and finalized.

Those would be the details I was looking for. Dan & I will try to do some heavy recruiting up here with the RX8 people that we run into or see! Body shop is done with the front & sides, but we are still having crazy stupid problems with shipping company before we can start on the rear, but if need be we will come down with just the Front/Sides done. Also, I'll make sure Staticlag makes it down also, so you got 2 peeps from Omaha!

I sent pm's to everyone in the KC area that hadn't posted on this thread already. I told them to rsvp asap. Hopefully more people will come. P.S. Smog2k if you see this try to get some 3's and 6's out. Thanks.

Well im having work done there that previous monday/tuesday. I will do everything in my power to be there. It all depends on whether or not my job needs me around that day.
I'd say count me in though.
