You can expect some great people in StL. There is a nice group of us that are always getting together based both on the IL and MO side of St. Louis. Since you said "orders", I'm guessing you are military and are being stationed at Scott AFB just outside of O'Fallon/Shiloh/Belleville, IL? Where are you coming from? I've traveled around the states quite a bit and would be happy to provide some suggestions as to what sites to see.

What route are you thinking of taking? I know there are about two ways you can go. An "as the crow fly's" route, more straight and all. Or, you could the northern route through Wyoming and heading south through Lincoln, Nebraska and such. Let me know and I'll suggest some sites along the way. I'm thinking prettier country, see the mountains and cooler weather if you take the more northern route. Might be more pleasant that way being you are moving in the beginning of July.

I beleive we are doing the northern route so far. Possibly hitting Badlands on the way and yellowstone... But none of this is 100% sure yet. Only things that are sure I start work on 18th of July and I'm leaving the 5th of July

While you're here - and this isn't just for RX8 owners, but anyone who owns a car - our main east-west highway is going to be closed in two parts for basically two solid years. Certain commutes may be ugly. You may need to look out for this when you're choosing a place to live.

Details - http://www.kmov.com/construction/

or post your question here and someone will probably give you a fairly accurate answer.

Wecome to town and good luck. There's something for almost everyone here.
