NASA HPDE July 7-9 @ Mid-Ohio
Here are the details: https://www.nasaproracing.com/nasa_e.../?event_id=318
You can do 1,2 or all 3 days. I'm going to shoot for Friday, the 7th. HPDE1, as I'm a track virgin. I think some of my Columbus bretheren will join me.
Any other takers? I have no affiliation with NASA, Mid-Ohio, blah, blah, blah.

ive been to road america a few years back and would consider myself a pretty good driver (my dad is an scca instructor, so i got a bit above average training) so i could fall anywhere inbetween group 1-3 depending on the caliber of people out there, whats your experience and what did you run in?

The instruction was OK, nothing more. (It was a little amusing since my instructor was a rather large guy and found it difficult to get into the car). I liked my instructor and I guess he felt I wouldn't kill myself so he signed me off. I felt there was more to learn with regards to the line and the "personality" of Mid-Ohio so I thought the sign-off was a little early. He did say that I freaked him a little. When looking back I guess I did since the first 2 sessions were in the wet where I had pretty much tried learning the line and putted around. After lunch ithe track dried out, I slapped on the R's and at the first corner after the back straight, I went to brake deeper by comparison. I didn't overshoot the corner or missed the braking point (not even close)...but from his view, I had gone a lot further.....I apologized for it. He said it was OK and chuckled too about.
It sounds like you probably would be signed off pretty quickly. The groups (1-3)followed the "pass only when indicated" quite well. Everyone behaved. Only the most experienced group was allowed to pass without needing to signal. They too behaved well. It was far from "racing". If you are concerned about this, my experience would say that you have nothing to worry about.
Maybe I'll see you there....

Fellas,
My ticket is being put on hold. I've been told that I have to be in emergancy surgery 6/27 for an over active adrenal gland. It's pumping to much adrenaline into my body therefore causing my heart to race and blood pressure to shoot up. I'm not sure how long I'll be out of commission but I'll hopefully get back soon.
Good luck up there, have fun and be safe!!!

Anthony,
Our thoughts are with you - good luck. There is another of these events again at Mid-Ohio in August, so hopefully you are up to it then. Keep us posted on your progress.
