nasa oh/in schedule available, whos in?

a lot of mid-ohio events, thats not good for the wallet! grattan looks very tempting, i might have to make a trip up there if i can fit it in the budget. a few of us did mid-ohio last year and it was a very well run event, id suggest it for anyone from novice to pro!

April 20-22 - Mid-Ohio

Mid-Ohio This event is a tradition and a great oppotunity for all drivers to shake down their cars from the long winter rest. Mid-Ohio in April is a also a great time to rekindle friendships that turned from track talk to e-mail talk over the winter. Now is the time to mark your calender for this event and get in those valuable Regional points at NASA's Championship track. Although I have not had official word from the National office, I did read in Grass Roots Motorsports that we will be using the Pro- Course for 2007. Whatever is used at the Championships, we will use for the regional events so everyone can get maximum experience. As soon as I know, I will send it on to you and/or post it on the OH/IN Website!!!

May 19-20 - Putnam Park

Putnam Park in May is the right track at the right time; everyone loves this track. With warmer weather, Putnam Park in May is always well attended. This event will be be a crossover event with the Midwest, hosted by the OH/IN Region and a great opportunity to hang out with friends you may only see twice a year. I suspect HPDE and possibly TT groups will sell out so register as early as you can.

June 9,10 - Grattan

Grattan Raceway Park Has received a lot of requests which gets it on the 2007 calendar. I've heard that everyone enjoys the track - both Race and HPDE Drivers alike. The elevation changes and the memory corners make it a great track for NASA OH/IN region.

Here is what I found on the Grattan website; "The picturesque road course is 2 miles long with several unique and challenging corners. It is considered to be one of the finest courses in America. Some of its features include a 3,200 foot straightaway, a 160 degree hairpin turn and a downhill reverse camber turn. If you can master Grattan, you can race anywhere."

I'm not going to make predictions, but I can see some great times had at this track. All you drivers up in MI - this one's for you!!!

July 13-15 - Mid-Ohio

July at Mid-Ohio has proven to be the second stop for many drivers private circuit looking to get points at the NASA Championship course. Do not miss this opportunity to set your car up at one of the most important tracks on the tour.

We will once again host the F-2000 Open Wheel cars for added excitement.

August 18-19 - Mid-Ohio

Mid-Ohio is scheduled as a crossover event to offer Midwest and OH/IN Time Trials and Racers the opportunity to earn regional points and practice for the Championships. I suspect this will be a largely attended event as it was last year.

To help reduce scheduling challenges associated with this busy event, the F2000 Open Wheel cars (we're very happy to have them) will be running at the July event.

September 13-16 - Mid-Ohio

NASA Championships is the event for September if you are a Race and TT driver.

However, we don't want to leave out the HPDE Drivers so I would like to offer the HPDE Drivers an opportunity do drive in September. To that end, we are working on an HPDE only event in September - Possibly at Nelson Ledges.
To make it happen - I need your help to know if this is what you want - If you drive in HPDE 1, 2, 3, or 4 (all drivers are welcome) and would like to have an event on September 22,23 at nelson Ledges, please send an e-mail to Lynda@nasamidwest.com with your vote. If we get enough "yes" votes before the end of the month, we will have an HPDE ONLY event in September. To help you make the decision, there would be a ton of track time since the racers will not have their own group. Do not let this great opportunity slip by - this will be based on the popular vote. Before you send long e-mails about the track, your life's history or other tracks you'd rather attend on this date, there are only limited possibilities for us to have an event so just let us know if you want an event in September at Nelson Ledges.

Sept NASA Championships at Mid-O! I am very proud that OH/IN region brought home more podium finishes than any other region. You guys (and gals) are excellent drivers and competitors and I'm glad to represent this region. Let me know if there is anything I can do personally to help you increase your chances of performing well at this event. dave@nasamidwest.com Championships website link - NASACha mpionships.com

October 6,7 - Putnam Park

Putnam Park is a great track to wrap up the season. its usually warmer that our other choices and provides a great place to crown the Regional Champion. This year we saw some of the most exciting driving of the year and many of the HPDE drivers reached major milestones by getting signed off to run in a higher group. Plan your vacation time around this event!!!
