R3 in Des Moines area?
I'm thinking about buying an R3 but am concerned about head/helmet clearance with the recaro seats. Is there anyone in the Des Moines area with an R3 that would be willing to let me sit in their car?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Hey man, I'm all the way up in Washington.. But I can still help you out!!
R3's don't have, and never came with sunroofs; Mazda specifically did this for two things.. To save weight, and to increase the headroom.
The R3 was designed to be a TRACK READY car.. Blisteins, Recaros, lots of weight reduction etc. So you can bet that Mazda tested this many times, with my different people, and in many different situations. I think it's gonna depend more on your height more than anything.
Hope that helps!

Thanks for the response. Washington is a little far away so I will have to roll the dice on my upcoming purchase.
I am 6'4" but only 165 lbs (runner). I need helmet clearance for autocross.

I'm 6' 7" and my head touches the roof of my 8 with sunroof. Assuming without a sunroof adds an inch(or a little more) and you being 3 inches shorter, you should be okay with a helmet on.
