In the other thread, someone mentions the Sterling Mazda in Sterling Heights is also closed down. The Woodhaven dealership was owned by the same family (Jerome Duncan) I believe.

I think there is some internal fighting between family members (lawsuits, etc.) and I think they filed bankruptcy. But don't quote me on the details.

Jerome Duncan was csold back to FoMoCo because it was going bankrupt, coincidentally they also owned Sterling Mazda which was also closed.

I have heard that Sterling Mazda in Sterling Heights has reopened (under different ownership I assume but I don't know who), not sure what's going to happen to the Woodhaven location.

I had my 8 in at Metro last year for some of the recalls, and was happy. The service manager at the time seemed pretty knowledgeable (we talked MazdaSpeed for a while). They arranged a rental and got the work done on time. It's not your typical dealership with a huge showroom and garage, which made me a bit nervous. Just be careful pulling in off Woodward.

Suburban is out of the question with the current ownership...

I have been very satisfied with the service at Suburban in Farmington Hills. They have done a good job with recalls, ECU reflashes, routine service, and one ugly flooding incident. Recently they replaced my battery and starter because of sluggish starting this last Michigan winter.

I bought my RX-8 from the same location, which was Bill Cook at that time, about 2.5 years ago - before Suburban bought the dealership. I was reasonably pleased with the deal and the service that Cook provided, but my wife was very unhappy with the service that they gave her RX-7 about 10 years ago.

I just wanted to point out that things can change over time, and Suburban was very nice to me when I was there today. Your mileage may vary (FWIW, I get over 20 MPG and drive in a rather spirited manner, but that goes in another thread).

Sesi is where I bought mine, and thats where I take it when I need something. Ive always had awsome service and dont think I could get any better elsewhere. The whole purchasing period was about 20min of me being at the dealer including the test drive. I highly recomend them and think very highly of them.
