I just bought an '04 in Titanium Grey, and live over by Edwardsville. In the Wood River, Roxana area. It is stock still.. ugh, but high school kids are pretty poor, and the car payment is enough as it is. So I am slowly going to start adding onto it. But I hope to start getting involved in the community around here and taking any advice I can get on owning one.

Yeah. I hadn't really heard of RX-8's until I went car shopping a couple months ago. I drove a 94 Eagle Talon for the first couple years of driving... I am now "car spoiled".

 

The 8 is a tempermental woman treat her right and shell treat you right... dont and well lets not find out haha! but seriously everyone of the guys Ive met from this forum have been amazing the car comes with a great community if you need any help I speak for most of us I think when I say were more than happy to lend a hand, again welcome to the community and the addiction haha

 

Thanks! The addiction is not a lie. I spent 3 hours detailing tonight. lol I think I do it once a week or so. Mine has a few issues. A few scratches here and there, and a bug of some kind in the stereo that I am trying to figure out. But I did but it used, so it was expected.
The stereo problem beats me. I will put a CD in the player and it will suck it in, but it will not switch over to the CD function. It will just keep playing the radio, and even pushing the CD button won't make it switch over.

 

Welcome to the club, Cole33! First and foremost, make sure your car is up on all recalls; this is especially important for all 2004 models. The easiest way to check is at the dealership. Alternatively, sign up for a free account @ www.mymazda.com and input your VIN. The two major recalls are 4206f and MSP16. Hopefully they were already done by the previous owner.

I will have to check that out. I knew there was recalls, and the dealer I bought from thought they were all done, but it is good to check anyway. By the way, everyone can just call me Cole. I just added the 33 so the website would accept the name.
