Well I pulled the trigger on a 2009 blue r3 yesterday. Bought it in Naperville and drove to STL this afternoon. So there is another new 8 owner in this town. I love the car it is so much fun to drive, reminds me of my s2000 I used to own when I didn't have kids. Now with the kids in the back this is the perfect drivers car I always wanted.

My price range is 600 and down. I'm going to Rob's Muffler tomorrow to see what mi custom exhuast will be. I'll probably go with flowmaster or cherry bomb. Thinking about pairing up a mid-pipe with it. Anyone with mid-pipes, any problems with them (cel's going off)? And I drive mine year round. Snow tires won't help much. The car is too light for the tread to be effective. I've worked at a couple tire shops. Best thing is to drive slow, drive smart, and don't drive if u don't have to. Enjoy your R3

Winter tires help tremendously from my experience with this car. Summer tires (and even some all-season tires) will have major difficulties on even the lightest dusting on the slightest incline. Winter tires change that.

At first I didn't think I would like the recaros, but after a 4 1/2 hour drive from chicago to STL, I realized how nice they are. They were pretty comfortable, I can't believe anyone would complain about the seats.
I just dropped my son of at school and grin on his face when he got out of the car, he was hopeing everyone could see him getting out. The 8 is probably one of the coolest cars compared to all the minivans and suv's that the mothers drive at his school. The only other car that gets my attention there is by a dad who drives his two kids to school in a Black STI.

Sti always has to one-up us. Hahahaha! They are way better then soccer mom cars and everyone loves the suicide door. Thanks for the offer on the mid, I think I'll also hold off for the high flow cat. I'm going to start a new trend, Jap-Muscle. :I) okay maybe not. I'm just looking for a nice aggressive sound and better flow.

Good news- robs muffler printed me out a quote for my "jap-muscle" exhaust also known as the highlander. Going with the flowmaster 10 series, 3" tips and 2.5" piping with shop fees and labor is $515.
Bad news- while it was lifted I noticed a fluid coming from my front right strut. They said it's probably blown. Lus fusz said I have to bring it in to see if it's covered under warranty. So I have my fingers crossed. If they won't should I go with kyb or Monroe?
