^ Haha, we [OG's] should be used to it at this point, 3 people have totaled their 8's in a few months.
I saw a really nice grey rx8 today; full mazdaspeed kit, I should have turned around and tried to talk to the guy.

Gentlemen (and I do use the term loosely),
Where's the best paint and body shop around? I want to do a major repaint next year, and I want to start talking with a shop about colors, detailing, decals, and cost. Got any recommendations?

Cole,
As much as I love my new toy, it needs a bit of cosmetic help. The engine and clutch were replaced by Mazda a couple of years ago, and the previous owner and I have only put 16K miles on it since then; the BEA5T runs like a new car. The body, however, is still 8+ years old. The trunk lid has suffered some minor discoloration; the driver's side back fender has a small patch of cracking and flaking going on; and the body kit (front air dam, sideskirts, rear fascia) has little specks where road rocks have pitted the surface.
My intentions are to have the whole body worked over and made smooth once again. The body kit could also use some tightening up, as the original installation isn't "seamless." Then I want the OEM Brilliant Black put back on, though I'm tempted...oh, so tempted...to go Winning Blue instead. I'm partial to a medium-to-dark blue on the vehicle, yet that may conflict with the blue accents that've been added over the years. All things being equal, I'll likely go with black again and continue the trim and accents in blue. I've also considered a draconian graphic for either side to enhance the BEA5Tly image.
So... it's just a matter of finding a reputable body shop that can do the work properly, since I don't have the facilities at home to get to the parts properly, and I don't own a paint booth. I'll just have to suck up the cost for some professional work. Better that than to have it look like a Frankenride.
Anyone else want to weigh in on body/paint shop pros in the Mid-MO area?
