$300 ticket? What were you doing for that much? Never gotten one over $125 myself.

what do you guys think about this helmet.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...MakeTrack=true

It's the stlye I want (unless you guys are really against that style for some reason) and the color (flat black). Can't beat $50 price tag either.

Let me know what you think as I have noooooooooo idea what I am doing with helmets

That won't work for SCCA. It's not SNELL approved. They have a link on the left side that says "Snell Helmets".

Here it is for your convenience: http://search.stores.ebay.com/Moto-D...686109QQsofpZ0

The one problem with helmets is you'll need to try before you buy. I'd recommend hitting your local motorcycle shop and try on a helmet of the same brand and relative style you're looking at online just to make sure you get the right size. I did the same thing for a motorcycle jacket the other day.

HJC makes good, inexpensive helmets btw.

Other good resources for motorcycle helmets:

http://www.tonker.com (free shipping on orders over $75... which all Snell helmets happen to be over that price)
http://www.bikebandit.com

Unfortunately that one looks like it's DOT and not Snell. http://www.hjchelmets.com/cs12.htm

I looked earlier today and Tonker had a couple that were Snell and were around $100. I forgot which one it was. When I get home later I'll have a look for you if you haven't already found one.

Here's a link to a relatively inexpensive, black, full-face helmet that's snell approved: http://www.tonker.com/store/HJC_CL-15_Black.html

and another: http://www.tonker.com/store/Scorpion_EXO-400_Black.html

What is the difference between the two besides the price? WHat would you get if you had about $100-120 to spend?

Honestly I don't know the difference. I have an older version of the HJC and it's a good helmet. They've since improved it by adding additional anti-fog goodies to it. I say go for it if you're looking for a full-face. I personally would get claustrophobic in the car. I already barely fit as it is!

That is the joy of being a vertically challeged. I just figured if I am getting a helmet I might as well get a two for one and get a motorcycle helmet and autocross.

Bought me a helmet: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/219-Y...9454QQtcZphoto

Thanks H2O for the reference. Notice how the color scheme goes with my car. Got to keep it consistant.

LOL, nice! My helmet neither matches my bike NOR my car. Guess I need to get a new one, eh? I've got enough rock chips my motorcycle helmet that it probably wouldn't hurt to get new one. Fortunately my car and bike are both red, so if I ever decide to go full-face in the car I'd be set!

HHAHAHA! I knew before I opened the link that it was going to be yellow and black. Gives all new meaning to "stay true to your colors". Nice BBall. Let me know how you like it. I might pick one up too.

I thought you'd like that Terrets. Should arrive on my door step Friday via UPS. I can't wait! Anything to cheer me up after attending the first three games of the 2007 season at Busch Stadium only to see the Cardinals get swept.

terrets - owrd on the helmet...what's that?

snowboarder - I got the Rolen business pack, 27 games, plus went with my cousin to the second game for his birthday. If for some reason I can't make it to one of my games...I'll let you know.

I think I just got what you said terrets - any WORD on the helmet - yeah, it arrived yesterday afternoon. Looks great and has great air flow in the front. Easy to breath through.

OWRD is a rarely used acronym for "Oh What a Ridiculous D**K" like someone who would point out a typo on a thread. BA--ZING!!!!

Chico! How's Delaware treating you? It looks like there's plenty of 8 action going on in the Jersey area. Have you managed to get out to them yet?

Keep in touch.

We have a meet scheduled 4/15. A bunch of us are meeting ( from DE, MD, PA, NJ & NY ). There is a car show in Northern NJ about 1.5 hours drive. Some PA, MD, and DE owners are car-avaning together. We are meeting the others at a Dunkn Dghnuts of the turnpike. Should be fun. I think a lot of them ( including some big names on the forum - Shinka213, Darkhorse, Chrism to name a few ) are entering the show. I think they are trying to get us entered as a club as well. I know there will be pictures posted so keep an eye out.

Just a reminder... There's an autocross at Gateway Sunday. You can get more info here: https://www.rx8club.com/mw-rx-8-forum-31/st-louis-scca-autocrossing-pdx-112704/
