Sounds good. I'll shoot a PM to everyone next week with directions to my sister's in Wentzville (3-car garage with plenty of room). Before I do that, who all is coming and what are you planning on working on?

Here's the list so far:
1. Baseballgenius - Diff & Trans
2. WaterLogged - Engine Oil Change... maybe diff.
3. LainO - official observer and new recruit
4. maskedferret - still in? If so you've offered your car as the tester for the difference in a car that's pre-short shifter and trans/diff change. Plus it would be good to finally meet you. Also, did you paint your wheels yet?

And the list of lamers:
1. fisherdn - say hello to Kojak for me!
2. terretsboy - win some big money so we can put a supercharger in your car.
3. TKE Tails - been a while since we've seen you!

Have I missed anyone? So far it's looking like it's going to be a short garage day. Depending on the weather and if we get it all done quickly we can head out old south 94 or up north on 79 for a nice little drive to test out the new juices.

I should've added the "How about the drive?" list:

1. ChaseRX8 - we'll talk baseballgenius into entering your school's car show!
2. Starsky1231 - Bring the family!
3. sizzlin8 - Show off that yellow! (minus a black stripe)
4. snowboarder4eva - Long drive, but you can caravan w/ BBG.
5. Chico Elder - c'mon Delaware's not THAT far away.

Anyone else interested in doing a drive after the garage day speak up.

Ok....you twisted my arm, I'm up for post-garage drive. Guess I'll budget in a tank of gas for the day, maybe more.

By the way, I just had the brow of my windshield tinted. You'll have to check it out Sunday, Waterlogged, and tell me what you think.

Yea, I'm in for the 19th Which ones of you have the RP/AFE short shifter? I'd like to check the difference between stock and that if anything. Also, I am in the process of putting together a carPC... help with wiring it up in the car might be nice, although I'm not completely ready for that part yet; I'll probably bring the hardware for show&tell anyway.

No, I have not painted my wheels. I am still tossing the idea around of getting some white Gram Light 57Maximums, or the 57Fs and having them painted.

What time is autocross at on Sunday? I really wish those were held on Saturdays instead because I work Sundays

I can certainly help w/ a carPC. I'm a pc/network/server nut and have had every interior panel off in the 8. So I guess you can say I've gutted the car and put it back together. What are you using for the screen? Nav?

I'll be showing up at about 7:30AM at GIR to get the tires changed, camera mounted, pressures set, etc. The first car doesn't go until about 10AM. Our class drives in the first and third heats... assuming they run it the same sequence as the previous event. Hope to see you there!

Could i also get some help with changing my trans and diff fluid? This is my first manual car so I dont even know where to begin. I'll do the work, I would just like someone to point and tell me what to do. Also, Can I pick up some synthetic diff and trans fluid at O'reillys or autozone or do I have to order it?

I had RP put into my tranny and diff @ ~5000 miles on the odometer... my car is around 11k now. I really wish I did it myself instead of having Valvoline do it for the sanity of knowing it was done right. I even got the proper washers and told them to use those (since I didn't see them use what I gave them, I have no way to be sure they did; even more to worry about!).

LainO, I picked up 4 bottles of RP Maxgear from O'Reillys. They didn't have any out on the shelves, so I had to ask them; they had some in the back storage room.

Check out this thread for more detail on my work-in-progress carPC: https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-interior-audio-electronics-24/carpc-jdm-nav-work-progress-113678/

I've already got the hardware pieced together for the most part along with the OS+apps configured. The screen is a 7" Lilliput with a transflective screen. For navigation, I got the Garmin GPS 18 running nRoute. Your assistance in running wires through the car from the fusebox to the glovebox may be needed

Oh, and I'm up for that drive too!

"Friends of Kids with Cancer" ? That could possibly be the worst name for a charity. There's a joke there but I don't want to offend anyone...

That project is looking pretty sweet maskedferret. What are you planning on putting the pc components in?

I won't be available until 1:00PM on the 19th, but I've got the rest of the day open. I'll confirm tomorrow on the time that I can have the garage, then I'll keep you all posted.

LainO and starsky, this might help a bit on what you need to get: http://www.5cats.org/rx8/trans_diff_refill/ . There's also a long DIY post that goes on and on, but you can read it if you like here: https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.php?t=35115.html . If you go Redline you can get everything you need from www.finishlineperformance.com. I've never gone the RP route, so someone else will have to point you in that direction. It all goes in the same, though.

I'm going to go ahead and get the pump just so I have one at the house in the future. The one that I have is crap and I used someone else's the second time.

All who are going to the autocross this Sunday to either drive or observe... the weather is looking like it's going to be fabulous! I might even be able to get the tires up to temperature for the first time this year! Bring a camera, as I'm sure all the Lotus Elises, Ferraris, Vipers, and other expensive toys will come out to play... and lose to an under-torqued rotary.

Chase, it's looking like 1pm on the garage thingy. But I'll confirm that either this weekend or early next week.

It shouldn't take more than 45 mins. per car. With baseballgenius, LainO, starsky, and me we're looking at 3 hours max. Of course you have to account for hanging out and showing off our mods and what-not. If anyone has an extra set of jackstands, then we can have two cars going at once to cut the actual work time in half.

Also, to save having to make a trip to the parts store to drain the oil mid project, can someone bring an empty drain pan?

So, we could potentially make it to the show as a group, but it might be a bit rushed. Either way, I'm up for anything that day. It'll be my first relaxing day in quite a while. What better way to spend it than enjoying my ride?

Think you could get a hold on another pair of stands? I like to have all 4 corners covered. The additional jack shouldn't be needed since its use will be just to put the car on the stands.

Thanks! I will somehow be mounting the stuff to the sidewalls in the glovebox. I've seen a few ideas around the forum, so I will probably bug those people about how well it worked out for them.
