Well, the glovebox comes out simply enough to work with, and running wires/cables to the driver's side isn't a terribly daunting a task. Hell, punching a hole in the firewall to have a USB cable running from the ECU to the glovebox isn't that hard either!

Don't sweat it if you can't get them. I've got a full set, just threw that out there so we could have two cars going at once. If you happen to stumble on a couple more stands that someone is willing to loan you, then bring 'em along.

What are the thoughts between Red Line and RP performance here? From what I have seen and heard, it is mostly preference as the two are quite comparable. Thanks.

I'm not certain between the two. I learned today from a VERY good RX-8 source that for the transmission you'll want to stay either non-synthetic or go with Redline MTL. Especially if you have trouble going from 1st to 2nd and grind. For the life of me I can't remember what he suggested for the diff. but I use Redline and it seems to be doing well. I change mine yearly, though. Steve, if you happen to check this can you fill us in on what you told me?

I am leaning toward Redline based on a couple of recommendations. Do you know of a local supplier? Am cutting it close for Sat. Thanks.

hey dose anyone painted their capilers? how long do they take to dry? you think thats something we could get done at the garage day. Im kinda stupid so i dont think i trust my self taking off my wheels and messing with the brakes.

I think baseballgenius is paying Tuxedo Park to do his this week. I'm looking to do mine myself and use an "RX-8" stencil in white. Unfortunately, it does require taking apart the calipers and needs to have a little bit of drying time for the multiple coats. So this weekend's garage day is probably going to be a bit too busy for painting. We can either schedule another garage day where we can both do ours or you might like BBG's yellow calipers done by Tuxedo Park and decide to go that route.

I'm getting the calipers and wheel hubs painted tonight. They said $200 for everything. Whole process will take between 3-4 hours. Check them out this weekend at the garage day and see what you think. I'm not having any lettering put on the calipers.

Ok guys not to be pushy or anything but i need to know sometime soon if any of you plan on going to the autoshow after the garage day. If we go together we can get a cheaper price and a row of spots together. Ideally i need 4 people to go with me so there would be 5 of us all together the show is from 2-5 anyone want to go at like 3-4? if not then o well lol i will bring some extra jack stands so we can get 2 cars going at once
if you think its to much of a squeze please let me know now so i can tell them one way or the other

I'm thinking it might be a bit of a rush to make it out to the car show by 3 or 4pm. We won't be able to get going on the cars until 1:30 or so Saturday, as I have a previous commitment in the morning. That leaves us only a couple hours to change a few differentials and one oil change, dispose of the gunk, then high-tail it out there. Of course it doens't have to be limited to just my opinion.

I'm in the same boat as WaterLogged. If we can make it, great. But with everything else planned, it is going to be very tight if we are able to make it in time for the show.

I'll shoot out a PM that has Mapquest directions either tonight or tomorrow to those who've shown interest in coming Saturday. Has everyone gotten their goodies or at least ordered them? If so, which route did you decide? Royal Purple, Redline, Shockproof, non-synthetic, etc?

Redline here. Supplies should arrive on Thu via UPS. Went ahead and got the washers online also as local Mazda did not have them in stock. Looks like about 1:30pm on Sat. I agree that trying to make the show will cut it a bit tight. Any beer preferences?

I just now ordered my stuff for Saturday. I totally forgot to do my shopping. FinishLine is over nighting in. So I get to pay the extra penny there. But, at least I will have it by tomorrow. Total was $87.37 with the over-night...did I just hear my pocket book yell ouch?
