St Louis area 8 owners

Speaking of FDs, I think I saw a white one on Laclede Station Road last night on my way home that was marked for sale. Boostin', that's one hell of a dark blue color; I could have sworn it black. It's a very nice car; unfortunate that you're getting rid of it.
BBG, that's pretty impressive; I think my best so far is about 20.5mpg.

After buying an 8 i just figured there is no more need for 7... why waste it in the garage when someone else could be enjoying it....

Bill, here's the link to the 2 different MS wheels. One is $1,356 each, weighing 7.3kg (16.09 lb). One piece magnesium.
The second is $512 each, weighing 7.7kg (17lb) in gold, or 8kg (17.64 lb) in gun metal. The gun metal version of this one is what I'd like to have.

PS this website has great pricing on MS stuff.

I hit a raccoon saturday. Bad news: messed up my front end (air dam and a little bit of the bumper cover) Good news: I can pick between the mazdaspeed front end or the stock front end because it would actually be cheaper to go with mazdaspeed so I'm assuming that the insurance would be fine with allowing me to get it. Which should I get? Is there any benefit to the Mazdaspeed front end over the stock besides looks?

Honestly I think it all comes down to personal preference. I'm not sure what the Mazdaspeed front will look like without the rest of the MS aero package. I know I prefer the MS side skirts over the stock app. package, but that's a story for another time.

well thats another part of the question. I have that messed up side aero flare. Maybe I should just go crazy and buy the whole kit, front and side.

T-Boy,
You got screwed. I hit a woodchuck on 70 going 80 and only tore up the plastic cover underneath the front end. I think he tried to duck.
Best part was that 4 months later after winter I was washing down the underside and found a huge chunk of fury and whatnot on a clasp that was holding the exhuast pipe on. Sort of brought a smile to my face.

This was a huge country-fied raccoon. 10 feet tall if he was an inch. Could down a whole trashcan worth of trash in one gulp. It was finishing off a full grown man when it decided to take on my car. The f-ed up thing is that there was no blood, fur or anything that I could see. I think the little bastard got away.

I vote for MS front and sides.
This website has probably the best pricing:
http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...682&startrow=1
Or, I know someone who works at Bommarito south county, and has offered me basically 20% off mazdaspeed parts before. I might be able to hook it up.
If you do the MS front, do a clear bra! ($$$$!)

Hahaha. Well the grand total is in. $1,600 estimate. They are going to have to send out my A/C condenser to get it checked as there were some pretty big dings in it. If I get a new one or repaired one I think I'm going to have to get the screens. I decided to stay with the stock front end since the mazdaspeed was waaaaaaaaaaaaaay more than I thought.

I don't think I'm racing this weekend becuase I have to get out to dinner by 5. Also, my front end is still duct taped up with bright orange tape, so I'd be pretty embarrassing anyway. I don't have the rental yet, but you can bet your *** i'd be racing it! I'd run that thing into the ground! I'd race an aveo!

Nah, midpipes/high-flow cats usually bring out the rotary sound that Mazda's tried to hide. I say go for it, as long as you don't mind your warranty being void.
Fish, where were you yesterday to join us in the "waterlogged" race? In all honesty, I'm pretty bummed about it because of the weather. I think I ended up winning the class and surprisingly enough was ahead of STU in the rain (believe it or not) going into the second round of runs. But then they got a dry run and ended up ahead because a monsoon came down right before we ended up going. The rain came down so hard earlier in the day that I was hydroplaning in my flip flops while walking through grid. Us poor BS'ers never got a dry run all day.

Sorry to hear. I just decided to skip this one.
And about the midpipe, there are a lot of instances on the forum where people went back to stock because the new pipe was so loud.
About warranty, it shouldn't void his entire warranty, he just wouldn't have warranty on his exhaust. They'd have to prove the midpipe caused engine damage to void his engine warranty.
