I am very much on the fence about getting the BHR ignition kit as well; it will most likely be put in the next time I replace the coils.

ha ha im not about to drive the mustang up there, ill be drivin the 8, but one of my buddies may drive the stang. i talked to my dad last night and he said he would have to see if the lift was being used, last time he was in there they had the car on the lift trying to put the rear end back in there drag car so hes not sure if its still up there or not. if it is i know another buddy with a heated garage we can fit the rx8s in to work on.

got in the 8 today, and she wouldn't start. Not sure what it was it was tryin to turn over, headlights worked and everything, so looks like I've gotta call and get her towed. I know I was throwin a CEL from my RP supercat, so hopefully its nothing huge! Guess I might as well look into replacin the supercat, may go with a single resonated midpipe now just to see if there's a difference!

we will find out tomm sometime hopefully, im hopeing its just my RP supercat, i've heard they typically last around 15,000 miles or so and then sometimes they have problems. But im not sure how that would effect the car starting or not. maybe the O2 sensor shut something off?? i dunno i feel like an idiot when it comes to these rotaries. but i guess if its the supercat, ill just buy a high flow midpipe, maybe that will add a little horsepower to the auto! lol

nope most likely flooded or a problemn in with ignition or fuel. even a totally clogged cat will try to run and die when you give it gas

damn, then I have no idea what it is, I don't know anything about these cars and how they work. If its the ignition looks like I'll go BHR upgrade like charlie. I still need to figure out what's up with my cat and why it threw a CEL, damn I could be broke by next week. Lol.

There are a few ways to resolve the flooding issue yourself for a lot less than what a dealer will charge you. Usually involves removing a fuse to prevent the fuel pump from pushing more fuel into the engine *Which is what is causing your flooding issue* and then you can remove your spark plugs, clean them up so they can properly fire to ignite the fuel. Or you can alternatively do a pull start. Those generally work every time.

Of course, you probably already had it towed to the dealership, but just as a future reference. There are lots of "How to de-flood an engine" threads, I think even an DYI! Might be good to read up on that, just in case this happens again.

yea i have had to do the DIY for de-flooding a couple of times, but this isnt a flooded engine, i got in it to start and it just tried to turn over for 20 sec with no success, and the last time i drove it the 8 just didnt sound right, but i prolly drove it for around 20 min to get home. so its sounds like somethin is wrong too, i've also felt the car is a little bogged down, or is not as quick as it was when we did the cruise a month or so ago. im not sure if that is something to do with my RP supercat possibly being blocked, i have read that sometimes the inside of them comes lose and begins to move around actually hurting performance. guess i just have to wait till mazda gets back to me, which will prolly be like friday since the dealer up here sucks!!!

except after thinking about it I most likely did flood it as well, since I tried to start it a couple of times. So I'm sure I can add flooding to the list of what's wrong now. I have a feeling this bill is gonna kick my ***!
